I did a bit when I was younger. Im 45 now. I do at times lace them up with my 16 yr old son who boxed for about a year.
Very little for me...Been in the ring four times for sparring...and used to spar with kickboxers. My nose told me not to do it anymore, so I took it's advice. Still workout though...Seriously though after doing even a little boxing, you come away with a deep appreciation and respect for what it takes to reach a certain level.
I have. Trainer was a former roommate of Freddie Roach and on the same boxing team as him. Along with Tony Tubbs, Greg Page, etc. In fact he posts on here as David D.
You wait till he lands one into yer spleen & yer eyes lock into each othersfor that micro second:yep & he says errrr sorry dad, knowing full well you are ****ed but you can't show the little **** thats the case until the spew roars forth I had the above with my son, ****in surreal moment, like all son's he was starting to push it just a bit & that moment when my diaphragm siezed up:yikes it was that split second smirk/grin on his gob then the fake concern that troubled me so i nipped that rebellion in the bud by holding onto him & chucking up 10 pints of rancid acid ale all over him
I've participated in the fistic science for 4 years or so now. Some dick chipped one of my front teeth a week or too ago. He's now nicknamed "the woodchipper". :verysad
Yes Im showing my age for sure!! My boy has the begginings of a Holyfield build. Good form and balance. I use the Philly shell style so he doesnt get me too much. Im alot heavier as you can see with me standind next to Tua. Im 250 hes 140 so I just try an catch and roll but I keep him aware with a shot here and there. He pushes the hell outta me though !
Hagler's old gym is in an abandoned building in the heart of downtown Brockton. Only a few guys go there, including Kevin McBride -at least until his recent loss. Goody Petronelli is in his office daily. A mural of Hagler is on the wall behind the two rings and the rest of the walls are covered with boxing nostalgia. The Nonpareil Hilario trains his son there and has trained quite a few others there as well. He's the best trainer you never heard of in the northeast.
