So I got just got done talking to someone that I know who likes boxing but not so much "The Sweet Science." Basically, when two guys are standing toe to toe that's his "boxing."
Good guy but He can be a pain to be around when watching Floyd and other boxing technicians. I'm enjoying the "boxing" match and him, not so much unless a "fight" breaks out.
However, he watched the fight yesterday and said he really liked the fight because Floyd stood and fought. I was kinda shocked. First time in a while I can remember him saying that he really enjoyed a Floyd fight.

So did anyone get any feed back from someone they know that may have not preferred Floyd's style before but liked the way he fought yesterday?

And just your take for the poll

So you think age has taken away the stamina in his legs so that he can no longer use the Pot-shot and run tactic ?...because he seems to say that he could have done that in the post-fight interview?

Personally, I haven't been so sure about that in recent years. I just figured his willingness to stand his ground has more to do with his age, inactivity having caught up to him so he had to adjust by planting his feet and standing his ground for respect. Kinda like Post-Exile Ali who admitted he no longer had the stamina in his legs to dance for the full fight.

Hit without getting hit. That is why I became a fan of Floyd. I just like fighters like that.

All of them give punishment without taking it.

I enjoyed it. I respect Floyd and think he is the best boxer today but have to admit his fights can be pretty boring. Last night had to be my favorite fight of his.

Good performance by Mayweather. I'm now looking forward to Bradley's major upset against Peduiao.

Both guys were awesome yesterday, and did some things a little out of character. You had Mayweather throwing 75 punches in a round, going to war off the ropes, putting together combinations and Cotto refusing to bend to Mayweather's will, fighting for long stretches like the relentless fighter of old, and refusing to give ground consistently. A fantastic night of fights. One of the best combinations of action and skill you're likely to see in this particular era.

Im one of the ones that think Floyd hasnt had a "boring" fight since de la fishnets. It's a testament to how great you are when people think a bloody nose is a huge deal.

I also think when Mayweather moved up to 147 he wasnt as sure of himslef at the weight. Now he knows he can take a good shot and doesnt have to dance to win.

Both guys took a tremendous amount of punishment. Then again, they were fighting and in against superior competition.
