Both great fighters but Robinson was greater and a joy to watch, few if any in boxing history had the speed/power combo SRR had.
SRL was good, but he wasn't on SRR's level. SRR in addition to all of his skills and concusive power, so he was still a knockout thread even as he went up in weight. His ability to hurt men also made him a better aggressive fighter than SRL. He could do everything.
Both great fighters, at times Ray Robinson could be a little overrated by historians. He could do it all in the ring, but he wasnt great at everything. I liked Leonard more as a fighter, but I concede Robinson was just a little bit greater. Leonard was faster with his hands and had a better defense, Robinson was a lil bit tougher and hit harder. Robinson was smooth but his defense wasnt impregnanble and on the elite level he wasnt the hardest guy to hit. Not much to choose from between the two:good
I disagree. Robinson looks great at everything on film to me. And Robinson's ridiculous combinations to the body would actually knock mother ****ers out. You can't say the same thing about Leonard's. Leonard was great, don't get me wrong... But Robinson was better, and to be honest, I think his defense was great, but most of the film available is Robinson vs styles that would give him a great deal of trouble. Nobody wants to watch film of Robinson just breezin past a guy.
