We have a lot of experts on the board but I don't see many first hand accounts. Who here actually goes to the fights? Which memorible fights?
I dont get many chances to go to fights, although i attend amatuer events from time to time I didnt go to see Duddy because hes opponents in Dublin where poor, Lee because i couldnt get tickets, luckily the McCullough-Martinez fight was canceled because i couldnt attend that weekend and really wanted to go.
the big ones ive been 2 are calzaghe v lacy kessler eubank ive been to quit a few jc but there the only ones worth mentioning some hatton ones aswel
I go to local fights. What else? Lewis v Botha at the London Arena. I'm going to Haye v Mac in March. Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to go to Vegas when Tyson was in his hey day as I was too young. I'm thinking of going to Vegas when PBF and ODH have their rematch. I'd love to see Cotto and PBF too.
Always. Also getting good tickets etc...I wonder how many people have been ripped off when purchasing tickets for overseas fights.
Like to travel to mainland Europe (from the UK) once a year and also to America at least once a year to watch live boxing. Best fight was also my first American fight: Lewis vs Klitschko Best fight night was Barrera vs Juarez due to the depth of the undercard One of the best weekends of boxing was in Berlin for the Valuev vs Ruiz fight. First time I'd been to the city and the bars were great - boxing was also good believe it or not. Worst weekend for boxing was actually in Vegas for the Hatton vs Mayweather fight. There were far to many fellow Brits around and we made a mistake staying in the Luxor.
My dad has an off licence and a lot of the guys that come into the shop went to Vegas - they said a lot of the brits were getting into fights with the Americans and also getting their butts kicked. They also said that after Floyd knocked out Ricky the Americans were chanting 'one little Ricky. There's only one little Ricky...'
I've been to: Golota vs Bastings Golota vs Grant Golota vs Ruiz Taylor vs Pavlik I I think thats it...:bbb
living in Connecticut is hard to see the great fights but I went to the last FNF at Mohegan and I'm pretty sure I'm going to the next one when Andy Lee headlines.
Detroit doesn't have as many boxing cards as you would think, given the boxing history in this town and the presence of the casinos. I try to go to most of the local cards, but the biggest card I've been to in recent years was in Indianapolis: The Mosley/Forrest rematch. Tarver KO'd Harding on the undercard.
