How many on here think klitschko just didn't show up against fury?

    I am not a Fury fan, nor have I ever been, though I have said, and noted an improvement in him as a fighter/boxer... he's still second rate though and the Land of the Giants is a division unto itself, and you can keep it as far as I'm concerned.

    Boxing is poor enough without this Side Show division.

    lil Klit is past it, though he has always been a pretty good basic boxer, who too has always been a bit gun shy owing to his own questionable chin...

    Father time and overtly cautious was Fury's victory...

    a rematch will only be different IF lil Klit goes for a fight and takes control, Big Klit could still end it, even today if he were still fighting.

    Fury should NEVER be a world champion IF there were proper Top men available and also IF they were all forced to meet!

    My thoughts exactly. He hasn't had a fight go against him like that in a long time and just couldn't hit the switch to press the action. He mentally couldn't win the fight and I don't know if he can change that in one training camp

    I think the following statements are all true regarding Klitschko :

    - He didn't grow old overnight, he was looking old in his previous fight.

    - He DID "show up", he was still a pretty good version of himself, but Fury was too good for him.

    - He might well turn up for the rematch a better fighter, and that's what team Fury will be preparing for.

    He has to show up in the rematch, close the distance and hit Fury with that right hand especially. No doubt he is past prime, prime was 08/09, but he did show against Pulev that he still has the one shot KO power. Anybody that can hit like that can still win any fight.

    Klitschko did show up.

    He just realised that this man in front of him only came for one thing, and that one thing was to have a "fight".

    Wlad had never been in with anyone like it before, somebody who "really actually" wanted to have a fight.

    He knows it and couldnt handle it.

    There is a big difference in going to box or going to fight, and fury with his background just wants to fight, and that to some opponents is scary, and they go in to there shell.

    Wlad got bullied in there and knows it.

    Rematch.

    Very Different.

    Wlad = Ultra cautious.

    Fury = Beyond Control.

    Result = Fury KO 4.

    Wlad ultra cautious in rematch? I would say that tactic failed already.

    There was 2 factors that were key for the 1st Klitschko vs Fury fight,

    1. Wlad bought into the whole Fury charade of him coming to fight and that 1 of them was getting KO'd!! Fury pulled a blinder with the press conferences etc He managed to get Wlad worrying about him instead of being in control of his own plan etc

    2. Wlad didn't have a plan b, as soon as Fury started moving you could see Wlad wanted to do something but he is so used to being in control that he couldn't. His feet were flat and he was looking for power punches but because of his footwork being slow everytime he thought he was in position fury had already moved and Wlad had to reposition himself.

    A class performance from Tyson and he literally shocked the world, the rematch will be interesting because Fury has used his box of tricks and his Ace card and the rematch will show us if Tyson really has a future at the top of the heavyweight division and does he have any more tricks up his sleeve?

    In the rematch Wlad will be preparing totally different, he will have tall boxers moving unorthodoxly, he will have southpaw sparring and also boxers who will come and have a tear up with him. If he is smart he will anyway.

    He will also switch of when Tyson starts his rants or does his stupid moves like the Batman press conference.

    I think the rematch will actually tell us more about both boxers:

    Can Tyson repeat his performance or can he beat Wlad by KO'ing him?

    Can Wlad turn up, cut the ring off and let his hands go?

    I'm undecided, Wlad might just be on the slide and no matter what he does he will never get the better of Tyson or Wlad will do his homework and get the win over Tyson and show us all that he isn't past his best!

    Either way i am looking forward to it!!

    I know.

    But i cant see him going any other way.

    I like Wlad, and he has been a great warrior.

    But he has to be serious, not just serious but extremely serious.

    And it appears he has lost that ability.

    He needs it back, and should go away and have time alone and then bring it back.

    If he does, he will be smiling again soon.

    I hope he does.

    Great Fighter

    He was lax and did not adapt on the night you are correct. But we can forgive him one bad night in 11 years.

    Wlad did look spooked on the night. He didn't want to engage and take any risks to get the straight right going. Nobody watching didn't think 'Why is Klitchko not throwing the right?'. Odd that he didn't want to engage... Fury is not known for one-shot KO power.

    I agree with those who felt he has looked older for a couple of fights now, but disagree with those who said Klitchko was scared because Tyson was 'coming to really fight'. The observant might have noticed Fury mostly danced about and jabbed. As 'fights' go? This was **** poor.

    The rematch really isn't predictable. Wlad could roll back the years and take some chances and will only ever be a clean shot away from decking Fury. On the other hand will he be an even older version of this already old version?

    I think the Fury win had more to do with Klitchko than it did with Tyson.

    I immediately thought he hurt his right hand. He just wouldn't pull the trigger. I wouldn't be surprised if he did hurt his hand but isn't saying anything because of the vaseline/big toe debacle!

    Wlad is very good at what he does best, which is to use his size to bully smaller fighters.

    He is awful at closing distance and dealing with movement.

    He was clueless against Fury, he couldn't land the jab, was toothless inside, and looked terrified of being countered.

    I wouldn't be at all surprised if the rematch was even more one sided, and wouldn't be shocked if Fury stopped him.

    ∆ This... Now Wlad knows he can't outjap his opponent I expect him to use his right hand much more than he did in the first fight which should lead to a much more entertaining fight, although I still see this fight going the distance again.
