How many Pavlik fans would travel to Wales?

I don't see the logic in a stadium turning down a request to stage a boxing show. Why would they do that?

 

I think Pavlik wanted Cleveland Brown Stadium for a couple of reasons. Resonable tickets and big crowd.

 

No reason given. I guess they think the thugish football fan is more civilized than the thugish boxing fan? The killer is, the place was built with public money yet the football team acts as if the OWN it.

 

Simple economic reasons dictate that supply and demand will drive the price of the tickets. I cannot believe every fight in Vegas can command a starting price of $250 (like Calzaghe-Hopkins did - PBF-Hatton was just as high) and I know nobody who got that price. Everyone I spoke to paid at least $350. Hatton and Calzaghe fans got shafted but they will pay it up every time. I'd hope that if Pavlik fought Calzaghe then they'd keep the prices reasonable so that lots of Pavlik fans turn up too.

 

Kessler brought what, about 5000 fans to Cardiff?

I don't imagine Pavlik would get close to that amount, for various reasons.

I would be surprised if Pavlik brought more than a couple of hundred across the pond. Americans just don't seem to travel - but then again they don't need to leave, they've got everything they need right there.

 

i would say very few (relatively speaking) pavlik fans would be able to afford the trip to wales

having said that, i don't understand why threads of this type continue to be made, everyone in the US understands that british fans are more blindly supportive and can afford these kinds of trips/vacations... plus just in terms of a trip or a vacation, i can see how las vegas would be a much more appealing tourist option than frickin manchester or cardiff

 

If it happens, it will be in Wales. Pavlik will be the challenger, thus, he is the one who has to travel.

Just as Calzaghe had to go to the US in order to fight the man at LHW.

 

As I said earlier: I see dozens American tourists in Munich every weekend. So I do no longer believe the myth that Americans don't leave their country.

I guess they just aren't willing to spend thousands of dollars and "waste" their holidays to follow their sports heroes all over the world.

 

At the end of the day this will be held where the most money is, no doubt about that. But remember a few million PPV's at $50 a pop adds up too.

 

So hold it in Carff in front of 70,000 and put it on PPV to all the Pavlik fans who stay at home and you get everyone to pay for it.

Like I said. It will be held where it is most economically feasable. Even if I saw down with the paperwork, I probably wouldn't understand it all. Warren WILL get Cal the biggest paycheck he can. No mistake on that point.
