How many Pavlik fans would travel to Wales?

min wage is $5.15!!!!!!:yikes its $11 here now I believe. (£5.50)

 

The area that we (Pavlik Fans) are from is probably one of the 5 poorest areas in the United States. In fact, I think Cleveland is the poorest city in the country. It just wouldn't be possible for us to make the trip. I wish like hell we could, but that's just the way it is. Most people have to work for over a year before they can even sniff any paid vacation time, so they take it when they can but not necessarily when they want.

I did a little bit of searching, and the cheapest I could find a trip to Cardiff:

$1,472 per person (Flight, Room, and Car)

This didn't include tickets to the fight which would be probably 300-500 american per person for cheapies (correct me if I am wrong).

Also, this didnt include food.

the average paycheck doesn't get the average american household through 1 week anymore, so a trip like this would be next to impossible.

Unless they planned the fight 5-10 years in the future.

 

And I bet that after taxes they work out about the same?

 

the UK has very little super athletes. the US has so many that if we followesd every single one, we would be bankrupt.

Id go to Wales to see this fight it would be historic in attendance and if it is Joe's last fight would be a great atmosphere ........

 

No point debating and 'reasoning' this out. It will be where the most money can be made.

 

I truly hope we find out because the fight is made. Arum says Vegas though. You aren't just doing wishful thinking hoping to see it live are you? :huh

 

My god how many times do we have to go over this. 10,000 paying for hotels, meals, entertainment and most immportantly losing their balls in the casinos leads to large site fees from the casinos and thus the fights make more money. You think we don't have 70,000 person arenas over here in the states?

 

We don't tax that much. We also do not tax the first £5225 of a persons yearly income so those on a low income don't pay as much tax as those in the US. We tend to tax those earning a lot more than in the U.S but those who are worse off are better off here than in the U.S especially when you throw in free health care and even possibly having you're rent paid by the goverment.

Someone on minimum wage in the US working 35 hours a week would earn $9373 dollars and pay just over $1000 in income tax.

Someone earning $9373 in the UK wouldn't even earn enough to be liable for income tax as they would still be within their annual allowance.

But someone on U.K minimum wage working 35 hours would earn about $20,000 and pay about $2120 in income tax.

So a Brit on minimum wage compared to an American on minimum wage would be $9507 better off. But then again your cost of living is so much cheaper than ours that it probably all balances out. Everything here costs an absolute fortune.

 

Basically what I meant was the living standards are similar. Prices are high because of the taxes you DON'T SEE.

 

hotel/casino site fee >>>>>>> live gate. this has been talked about many times. 70,000 asses on the seats still does'nt draw the kind of money 12,000 + casino site fee does. also, casinos draw in massive amounts of money in the betting lines. don't forget the ppv buys too. hence why most big fights happen in america, because thats where the money is.
