How many Pavlik fans would travel to Wales?

Hatton/Mayweather pulled in over a million PPV buys in the UK alone.

It attracted about 800,000 buys in the US.

Calzaghe/Pavlik would make more money in the UK. Obviously you have the 70,000 gate, and the massive PPV orders. No one in the the US knows who Calzaghe is. So I'm told.

If you were living on the min wage in the States and in the UK, taking into account price diff (items much cheaper etc in states) you would still be about a third better off in the UK.

 

You're right while basic income tax is relatively low for those who are earning little things like corporate tax, VAT and all other hidden taxes that even I wouldn't be aware of add to the cost of everything here. But those earning very little do get help from the goverment as well in certain benefits.

sports culture over here is way different to what it's like stateside. i support arsenal in the EPL and go to most home games every season and know regular "blue collar workers" who go to every home and away game (including games in europe) every season. it's the one thing they treat themselves too once the necessities are taken care of.

sports following over here is a hardcore thing that some people don't seem to be able to get their heads around.

This would pack out Millenium Stadium is easy, which makes it a bigger, better spectacle to watch imo, Calzaghe fighting in Vegas again wouldnt be bad for him, but id prefer to see this is the UK.

There is a reason GBP has taken in UK based boxers, using promotions from Hatton and Haye to get boxers on board, he has seen the money Hatton/Calzaghe can produce first hand and he wants a peice.

I wouldnt expect too many Americans to make the trip over for Pavlik, as his fans are all skint.

If the fight's taking place in Vegas as Arum claims, then the casino's putting up good money for the site fee.

That's why so many big fights in the states take place in the casinos rather than a large stadium. Casinos make a lot of money during a fight weekend besides the fight itself, so they can afford the large site fee.

 

A packed Michigan Stadium would easily hold 125,000+ if you take into account the seats that would be on the field as well. If it's in October it would begin to get chilly.
