This was basically a hand-picked opponent who the oddsmakers gave a small chance of winning. He was coming up from a smaller weight class. Fights where the outcome is inevitable does not make for large pay-per-view numbers. I think it did at max about 75k. Rick Glaser will have the numbers for us soon. Until then thoughts?
They tried to tell us Crawford vs Avesanyan did 120k and it got about 9 pages next-day, this will have like 90 pages next day, whatever they report has no ties to reality
They did absolutely pack the venue, clearly Tank has some kind of following. I'm going to guess 100k? Whatever number they give cut it in half.
Wilder vs Helenius did 75k PPV buys and 6k out of 17k attendance ($1.4 Million gate revenue) Pbeecee be doing micky mouse numbers.
150k, maybe a bit less B-sides matter when trying to sell PPVs, casuals weren't that interested in Hector as an opponent because they're looking forward to Tank facing Ryan next Tank-Ryan will be a massive hit though
I hate it when they make non ppv fights ppv. These types of fights should be on either showtime or free network TV. Tank-garcia is a ppv worthy fight.
Agreed. It widens the scope and exposes them to the audience prior to a fight such a RG which is PPV worthy, and thus boosts those numbers
They might have gotten a few sales with some people thinking it was Ryan. Imagine getting ready for the main event you paid for and it’s not even who you wanted to see.
