How many pay per view buys would a Ward-Golovkin fight generate?

Lemieux fight is more entertaining than a Ward fight.It will be interesting to see what the PPV numbers will be for the Oct 17th PPV event will generate.
Ward just doesn't do it for me but I may be in the minority.

One guy in the hood would buy that PVP and the whole block will watch the fight there. Golovkin will make 90% of the numbers.

 

Really impossible to say at this stage, neither as of yet has headlined a PPV to make an educated guess. Even if we could make an educated guess we don't know how much each fighter would want for the fight so it's hard to say if it's affordable or not.

 

Ward doesn't do it for a lot of people, not just you.

Lemieux is a bigger draw than Ward right now, he had attendance numbers similar to Ward's at his last fight and sold Canadian PPVs on top of that.

At his absolute peak in popularity & boxing momentum, Ward fought a fellow P4P guy in Dawson and did 1.4M on regular HBO. Two of the best in the world at the time, with the caveat that one of them was the walking dead.

Antonio Leonard was giving away a lot of Ward vs Smith tickets the day of the weigh in and the night of the fight.

 

No, it'd be the combination of the two fighters. But most people would probably root for Golovkin.

 

Don't think it'd do much more than say Lemieux (which I think will be 200-300k).

Ward is a no name and Golovkin would be pushing the numbers, so it probably wouldn't be much different.

 

It would do really well based on GGG only.

However Ward would come with his usual 'im the A side blah blah blah'

Fight doesn't happen unless its in Jokeland.

 

Now I wish the winner of Canelo/Cotto tell Loeffler the same thing. GGG doesn't bring enough fans to make it worth it.

 

It would do between 3 and 400K which are good numbers. In all honesty the majority would be Golovkin fans and probably about 35 percent would be Ward fans or just outright "boxing" fans that don't wanna miss

 

Golovkin may be bringing in the numbers but Ward would be giving out the boxing lesson.

 

By your logic, Golovkin will give way to 9 people buying the fight. If your 90% claim is accurate and if Ward only enables one person to buy it. Ten PPV buys? Jesus maybe Golovkin fans are losing hope

Ward took his fans for granted and is paying the price now just like kid choc also took his fans for granted.Ward needs to fight 4 times a year to make amends..I know it's not going to happen but that's what he needs to do
