about Kevin Mitchell, i have always hated they way they get hyped up and fight no-bodies and then talk about being all time greats, and i have always wanted to see Kevin Mitchell get it, but he showed quite a lot of respect the other week talking about his johansson fight, so showed a bit more class, but if they drop the all time great talk, i would prefer that

i am sure when Khan steps it up he will get his ass handed to him, i do not think he can take a punch at all,

I just think there are plenty of fighters with not great chins that have gone onto to be great champions.

Khan and Carl Froch are the only 2 British fighters I've ever wanted to see badly KO'd

He's a bit cocky, but so are a lot of boxers. I am actually suprised he has taken all the media adulation so well, which he hasn't asked for. The driving thing could have happened to anyone; you can't judge him on that.

It is annoying how he has yet to be matched with any serious punchers, but plenty of boxers from the UK and elsewhere have had much slower progressions than he has.

If by the end of the year he is still fighting feather fisted danes then it will start to seriously annoy me, but it is more likely that he will be matched for a world title at some point, which means noone will be able to question his opposition regardless of who it is, as they are all dangerous opponents.

Lets wait for December 2008 and see what happens, I seem to remember saying the same thing this time last year when people were having a go at Calzaghe for taking on Manfredo and look at how that turned out ...

How bout this, you don't like Khan, don't watch him fight.

Problem solved, you've chosed to be annoyed by Khan, not the other way around.

I would like to see Khan do well ... even though he does sometimes come across as cocky.

I agree with the majority re: Froch tho'

considering that all Ive ever seen are threads bashing the kid, I dont see at all how he's overhyped. People were shitting themselves b/c he fought a guy that was like 12-3 in like his fifth fight, and everyone was saying how overprotected he is...despite it being his fifth fight! goddamn people...

    his last 4 opponents:

    25-2 (KO)
    20-3-1 (KO)
    28-1 (RTD)
    24-4-1 (KO)

in his second year as a pro....goddamn people, boxing fans can be so ****ing ridiculous sometimes. Once they have it made up in their minds that they dont like someone, then it doesnt matter what they do.

People need to lay off. Then getting stick about being cocky. **** sake how is a kid supposed to build up his confidence. What is he supposed to say:

" I think I have a dodgy chin, I am fighting bums and I want to become british champion before getting KTFO from somebody who is ****" Ahh thats great the kid is humble :scaredas:

    He wouldnt be btw. :good

I think you're being harsh in the sense that it's very rare that such young fighters have control over their careers. Isn't it normal practice for their managers and promoters to hype up their proteges. Like others mention, his cockiness is something that every young boxer has until they get beaten. The anger towards the hype should be directed more at Warren then Khan, you can't expect a 21 year old to start organising his own matchmaking and opponents surely?

I agree with you. I'm not a pigheaded idiot & people on this thread & PM's from robpalmer have turned me around. For anyone thats read the thread in it's entirity they will know I did intitially support Khan. I do maintain though, I feel he has done too much talking but I will let it pass over me as long as it seems he is heading in the right direction.
