Hi, Just curious really. Rules: -Must be 'proper' form -Breaks are allowed I'll go first. (I'm not in great shape at the moment)... 90 Also... any advice for maximising this? E.g do sets of 10/20/30? Go until you start to feel it slightly, then rest for X seconds? I'm just starting proper conditioning again after a mental couple of months at work and not feeling too hot at the moment! Cheers guys.
I dunno. I only do it for two minutes because that's what's on our PT test, and I usually max out and get 75 on the push up section of it. But by that point I'm pretty much spent and can't do any more.
Overloading the muscle will lead to progression, so you can keep doing maximum effort every couple of days, or alternatively make the press up more difficult by either performing a pre exhaust on the pec dec or chest press. Then do as many as you can. The target being to try and overload the muscle as much as possible.
