Any street fight I have ever seen has been windmills and ****** smashes.

being drunk and falling into each other matters as well. generally i would say a good boxer can stay on his feet aganst most guys..unless they happen to really outsize him, or where damn good wrestlers.

Of course it doesn't look the same, most people don't know how to fight properly in the first place so the chances of two guys who have both trained in some form of grappling getting pissed off enough with each other to have a street fight is highly unlikely, it's the same as saying boxing techniques aren't useful for a street fight because street fights rarely look like two good professional fighters having a sanctioned bout.

The fact is street fights are ugly and the participants are often drunk and not trained.

In a street fight, I haven't seen any fight that was between anyone who knows how to throw a punch.
In a bar scene they almost always ended up on the ground.

A shitload. If they aren't broken up and last longer... they usually always do. Also consider that most of the people that you see fight in the street aren't very good fighters. It's also going to depend on who they are. If they are a good wrestler... the chances of that fight hitting the ground just shot through the roof. I have also seen and been in fights that never went to the ground. Usually those end in a fast knockdown/knockout or are broken up almost immediately.

Either way, the tendencies of a couple of drunk losers with no real fighting ability really doesn't matter. If this somehow a ploy to show that wrestling isn't effective in street fighting, it's warped logic. Obviously wrestling isn't effective if you don't know how to wrestle. However, if you do know how to wrestle, it's arguably the strongest fighting base/style you could have... and it is EXTREMELY effective.

LOL people fighting like gentlemen? Though it seems respectful it'd have to be ******ed. If your in a fight you could get hit in the temple, and die, get a limb broke, be internally bleeding, end up in the hospital.
Yeah...A lot of fights don't happen like that, but some do, and nobody is going to have a chance to hurt my body! That's why if you knock em down YOU FINISH THEM! There's no rules on the street, and I'd rather the other guy get sent to the hospital than me.

The ironic thing is though that because most people arent trained taking a fight to the ground is generally very easy. I took Judo at a very basic level when I was young yet of the very few fights I got into at school almost all of them ended up with a simple trip and a smothering side contro like positionl until the other kid gave up.

Most fights that i have ever been in start when i accidentlybump into someone on the dance floor or at the pool table becaus I win ( My parents owned a restruant with a pool hall next to it.) At the pool table they usually tried to hit me in the back of the head with a cue or a beer mug. Those usually remain standing. I have used grappling techniquse to subdue them but they are standing techniques like wrist locks or arm locks etc. Thank God i am older now and donot frequent those places anymore.

98% of people don't know how to fight. Less than 2% know how to fight. Knowing 1 martial art will seal the deal 99% of the time against your average joe. Professional fighters are on whole other level of ability that it isn't even funny.

Funnily enough I think pro's are the only people who could use street tactics effectively against each other i.e. eye gouging and biting. An average joe would just get his **** handed to him quick.

Fighters don't go to the ground quick but they do end up in close quarters/grappling quickly. They just don't know what the **** they are doing. If they fought someone who did it would be a short punch or a quick td.

is a myth that people keep spreading.. fights dont end up on the ground unless it is because one of them got knockdown by a punch.. the ones that hit the ground are usually two guys that cant fight for **** and fight like little girls

Punching, kicking, elbowing, etc are not natural human reactions. GRABBING, or Grappling is. Your whole life you've grabbed things, you wrestle around with your brother, etc. How many things have you thrown a straight right? Or a front kick?
So a lot of fights do end up on the ground because two people lock together and wrestle eachother to the ground, or somebody tackles someone, etc.
You have to train yourself to punch, or kick to do it naturally. The only punch anybody really has is a right hayemaker typically.
