lot of mad fcuks on the forum tonight voting for Quitali who never beat a fighter of note over never stopped Ali who beat at least 3 ATGs.

As if Quitsco would even sign for the fight in the first place. 35 year old Ali with early Parkies would take this *****.

If Ali went life and death with Frazier,I think it is fair to say Vitali could punish Ali... Unless Ali could just outpoint him..

My question is can Ali get inside enough to score points with out getting punished.. Or would he dart in and out, which is the only way I can see beating him.. He cant beat him on the outside like he tends to do, due to Vitali's reach..

whatever chance Vit has to win this fight, which I put at slim to none, he won't do it by winning rounds or outboxing him. Unless he's staggered or knocked down, If Ali doesn't want to let him win a round, he won't.

Sonny Liston had a longer reach and by all reports, harder jab and cross and better footwork than Vit. Ali wasn't too bothered by it.

I have Vitali just outside (or maybe, just inside) the top 20.

However H2H, I would have him well inside the top 10.

Still, Ali was a completely different proposition. His speed would have been far too much for the big Ukranian.

I'm not sure Vitali could have take any rounds in such a match-up. Maybe 1 or 2.

I mentioned that earlier as well, but nobody seemed to have picked up on it.

A prime Vitali will give Prime ALi a tough fight. I think the speed and Chin of ali will allow him to win more rounds.

    Let's see...

Joe Bugner arguably took about a quarter of each of his two fights with Ali by staying back and using his height and jab to control distance and stay busy.

VK is taller, harder hitting and better than Bugner (or Terrel)l, so Ali would likely have to be careful early in the fight and concentrate mostly on making VK miss while he establishes the distance. But once that happens, VK might be at a loss to deal with a fighter who is a fast as Ali was; and a pretty sharp puncher to boot.

If he isn't stopped on cuts, I say VK takes about four rounds in total, much like Bugner did. Because even though he's much better than Joe, Bugner's success rate would have been reduced had he faced the version of Ali that schooled Terrell.

Anyone who thinks Vitali does well should rematch his inept display against the abysmal Kevin Johnson. He showed a complete lack of skill and looked amateurish when shown the slightest bit of defensive skill.
