Maybe one of the early rounds, two possibly, but I have no problem with the shutout cards on this one.
I gave him a couple of the early rounds and then the 7th, I think. Incredible defense, just too little offensive output.
Narvrez was just better than most expected. He was coming up 4 lbs, the smaller guy, and he took Donaires power well. He thought he did enough in the first 6 rounds with his jab to win the fight. In fact...I gave him a tie for rd 1, gave him Rd 2, 4, and 6. But yeah, from a judges perpective, without the TV angle, it would appear as if Donaire was landing moreso than he was, hence the shutout,:-(
Narvaez won the damn fight if you know how to score a fight. He didn't get hit, clearly landed punches on Donaire as opposed to Donaire doing and landing nothing. He looked foolish lunging and falling all over the place. HBO did everything they could to make him look good, but he simply looked like a class c fighter. Please don't even mention him as a great fighter. Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter, not Donaire.
