How many rounds does Greb last against Hearns?

    Hearns had talent but was never in Harry's level of ring schooling, Greb wins UD, and Harry was a better middleweight

    Grebs footwork is TERRIBLE. The only reason I think this lasts a few rounds, is that guys who have sloppy footwork and unorthadox head movement (leaning back and ducking down facing the ground) can sometimes be hard to catch.

    Hearns would have belted him black and blue though. Watch the videos I posted.

    I am so sick of people digging up this footage of Greb ****ing around for the cameras and asking about the technical flaws. I'd say that even calling it sparring is a bit ridiculous.

    Maybe every ridiculous thing that Greb does in that clip is what he would do in real sparring.

    Maybe those things are all things he would do in the ring.

    But this clip doesn't prove it. And crossing the footage of someone like Tunney and seeing that Greb beat the Fighting Marine it seems highly unlikely to me.

    I have no way of proving that though. On the other hand there is no way to prove the contrary.

    For me that film used to be interesting - a wee window into the past and a chuckle. Now it just has me shaking my head. See how ridiculous it looks? That's how ridiculous I think the people who keep dragging it up as "proof" are.

    There's no chance at all that working pads in a "more modern" way sharpens reflexes to a greater degree than fighting.

    Having said that, I don't think fighting regularly would sharpen refelxes to a greater degree than serious padwork and fighting intersperced.

    Well, given that Greb loathed the idea of training, it's natural that he'd look atrocious when he went to the gym. Greb stayed active in order to keep himself in shape, and was a much different fighter in an actual prizefight than he was during those very few occasions that he set foot inside a gymnasium.

    So...If someone is basing their opinion of him solely upon this clip, they would do well to keep that in mind.

    Mate this clip dose not put you in a position to ignore the testiomony of people who actualy saw him fight.

    The facts are that no middleweight in history acomplished more than Greb. Probably no two put together.

    If you had some footage of him actualy fighting you might have a case but you don't.

    The reason I think this lasts a few rounds is because Greb wasn't a particularly powerfull puncher.

    As for Hearns knocking Greb out I would point out that Greb has been in with much bigger and harder punchers and posibly a few of them were better boxers than Hearns as well.
