we often spar in threesomes 3 rounds of 2 minutes,
    Goes something like this:
    boxer 1 vs. boxer 2 1 min
    boxer 1 vs. boxer 3 1 min
    boxer 3 vs. boxer 2 1 min
    boxer 2 vs. boxer 1 1 min
    boxer 1 vs. boxer 2 1 min
    .......

This is really hard, because after 1 min of intensive spaaring you get a other partner who just had a 1 minute of rest. When you are with 3 good guys, this is real nice!!!

Depends if you fight amateur, or pro. If amateur, spar 4, 2 minutes rounds. 30 sec break in between rounds.

Pro is another story...Can vary greatly depending on your fight experience.

And remember sparring is for learning. VERY rarely do you try to go over 80% on your partner.

When I spar, I try to hold back a little bit, but still try to get a workout. At my gym, the main "trainer" always likes for me to hold back 50%, and tells his guys to go all out on me. Then he gets mad when I get pissed and put it on his guys. Gives me little talks in between rounds. ****ing gay.

We also do that a lot. The downside is that it puts "thinking" fighters at a disadvantage. It usually takes me at least a minute to get used to my opponent, by the time I'm landing meaningful punches they throw in another person

Today I sparred 8 rounds with the same person. I prefer that because I got better as the rounds went by.

When you guys say you spar 4 rounds or however many you do spar, do you mean that they are all back-to-back rounds? Or you spar 4 rounds all together? I've been to 2 different gyms and both have been like 1 or 2 rounds then let another couple start sparring...

    Sometimes I do :D

Another thing we do sometimes, is "sparring" with a line you cannot cross. This is to get noobs accustomed to sparring, so they have a safe haven if things get too rough. The downside of that is that it's impossible for shorter fighters (read: me) to do anything. I hate it. They're simply standing there, out of my reach, behind their precious little line. I convinced my trainer to reverse it somewhere in the near future by sparring with a short rope between me and my opponent :hey

Have you ever sparred with three or more guys simultaneously btw? You can only do it with people who can restrain themselves, but it had me in stitches, lot's of fun. We did this with 5 people in a small ring, if you ever want to laugh your ass of try it.

Games like that are fun, and have their purpose I suppose.

Back to back, one minute rest between rounds.
