I always thought that Briggs was the better skilled and fluid fighter.

    Green seemed robotic at times.

It's too bad Briggs had such a short prime though.

It's good to see that the article does mention a firt opponent not known yet and a green fight mid 2010. I guess we'll know where Paul's at after his tune up.

P.S Didn't realise it's been 3yrs since he last fought.

Im also annoyed Briggs never got that big win he deserved. I always thought he had the build to drop to s-middle and seriously make waves.

Adamek's success continues to underpin how good Briggs was. Obviously the kick boxing (and possibly lifestyle) like Tszyu's 150,000 amatuer fights shortened his prime.

I agree, he could easily have made SMW considering his first fight was at middleweight.

a million in his bank account would be better than some 'imagined' legacy hes trying to protect.

go out and earn some money paul. you wont get a second chance.

The wars over the years took the life out of Briggsy who looked very ordinary in his last fight. The Adamak wars were both their to win for Briggsy but he just couldn't get there, but none the less he put up a great effort & pushed him all the way. Briggs also look far more dominate in beating Drews than Green did.

The Beyer rematch & mandy fights showed how easy Green was to handle when boxing him. Turned him basically into a 1-2 man. Hell even Sean Sullivan pushed Danny to the absolute limits in a war which seem to take a lot out of him as a fighter.

Prime for Prime I think Briggs handles Danny on route to a 12 rd dec win.

I'm confident Green would do him in, has a better jab, and more punches in his arsenal, Briggs showed one thing against Adamek that he is tentative when someone hits back, and not much of a killer instinct.

In the second fight he had Adamek walkin backwards ready to go and just followed him around not throwin a punch, Lewis was even getting frustrated yelling at him to let his hands go, yet when Green has someone hurt he goes for the kill, Briggs had very good handspeed but rarely used it to throw combos against better competition usually just 2 punches and back off and let the other guy hit back and reassert themselves like he did with Adamek.

Briggs was one tough nut but his actual boxing skills get a bit over rated at times.

Not really Briggs was getting his ears boxed off for the just about the first half of the fight, wasn't till they were in close and Drews clinched and stupidly held briggs around the waste which let Briggs have full free shots to hammer Drews to the chin which scored knockdowns, then Drews started to fight dirty and had loads of points taken off him.

I watched it live, and was nervous as in the last minute of the 12th as it looked like drews was comin back hard and Briggs was lookin a little wobbly.

Briggs was getting owned in the first 5 rounds. One advantage he will have over Green is his ability to adapt. He adapted in the Drews fight and was able to make the Adamek fights a tug of war, whereas Green often struggles to execute a plan B.
