Professional titlists should fight at least two times a year (or three if they suffer no injuries). There is absolutely no reason a professional world champion only fight once a year, that's keeping the title belt hostage. Non titlists should fight at least once every two to three months if there are no injuries.

There's twelve months in a year & if you are a high level in this sport, then you should be living the life & always, to some degree, be training no matter what!

I think, even with all the hype & promotional stuff in today's world, fighters should be boxing four times a year! That's nothing compared to what fighters of yeter-year did!

If you look at Henry Armstrong's record, he once defended a title 11 times in twelve months! That's some going.

    3 or over.

A champion should be forced to defend his title at least 3 times or stripped IMO.
