How Many Times As David Haye Been Floored So Far??

he never said Mormeck knocked him down 4-5 times..he was pointing the times he has been down TOTAL in his career, Mormoecks name just merely came shortly after that statement...

Holmesy you are right i guess. i'm the first to admit im a big klitschko fan so i also admit i guess im bias. i suppose what i was trying to compare was how wladimir handled the knock downs to how haye handled them. i realise haye struggles to make weight, but i also wonder how much that will make a difference when he finally steps in with the big guns of the division. i love hayes explosve super fast counter punching and offensive action, but i still feel that despite the weight haye has to drop, that he reacted to lighter hitters worst than wladimir reacted to genuine heavyweight hitters. sanders will never be known as a great, but he definately had power up there with the best, you only have to watch his fights to see that. hell, even lewis had mad respect for him.

There is a ridiculous amount of hate for David Haye on these boards. He is a very good fighter and is exactly what the heavyweight division needs to bring some excitement back to it. All those hoping Barrett beats him (which he won't), who will bring excitement to the havyweight division with Haye gone?

 

He's the saviour of the dull heavyweight division by virtue of being an EXCITING fighter with a personality and punch that promoters would sell their Granny for. The fact that his chin isn't the best only ADDS to his marketability because EXCITEMENT is guaranteed when Haye fights

Maybe but Haye was knocked down and all over the place against a featherfisted Supermiddleweight, who scored incredible 12 stoppage wins in 40 fights. If Mock had any kind of power and killer instinct Haye would have been gone in that fight.

Barrett was knocked out on two rounds by Cliff Couser. :roll:

 

I dont think there are many Haye fans out there who cant admit his vunrebilities. His punch resistance hasnt been very good, but if you look at the number 1 ranked heavyweight right now, he is hardly carved from stone himself.

Haye definately has a chance of defeating Wladimir Klitschko who is quite frankly a bore, I dont want the heavyweight champion, a man who historically has been the poster boy for our sport to be a man who is scared of getting hit - literally scared.

In Haye we dont have the next Lennox Lewis or Evander Holyfield, but we have a guy who brings an exciting style to the ring aswel as personality. I am certain its only a matter of time before he atleast gets a version of the heavyweight title.

Haye Vs. Barrett is more value for money than Wlad Vs Ibragimov, Thompson, Rahman or any other Klitschko fight for that matter.

Look at Cotto at 140, hit on the temple a couple of times by relative non-punchers and he went all wibbly wobbly. Moves up 7lbs and is able to take some big, big shots from genuine welters. I'm not saying Haye will ever have a granite jaw, but the KDs against Mock and Mormeck look a lot more like the kind of KDs suffered by Cotto than they do by someone genuinely chinny like Amir Khan. Time will tell i guess, but i think the chin issue is somewhat overplayed.

Technically, he's only been "floored" once, or was about to be in the fight against Carl Thompson. ;-)

I don't think you can hold a win against him where he got up off the canvas. If anything, that shows a real strong fighting instinct. And, the Thompson fight was very early in his career. He's a potentially exciting fighter that takes chances. I'd rather see David Haye vs. Most HW contenders than:

Lewis vs. Holyfield
Lewis vs. Tua
Ruiz vs. Valuev
Ruiz vs. Holyfield, etc.,
