How many times can this happen to JMM?

    I agree. I had recently watched their first fight and in comparison, JMM fought about exactly the same, with exception of coming on stronger in the final rounds. However, the biggest difference was that majority of those punches he landed in the first fight that would pop Pacs head back, which made it look very dramatic, were being blocked by Pac this time around. Pac improved his defense and didn't get hit by as many big shots as in their first fight. At the same time, he didn't land as many big shots either which made things close.

    Personally, i thought it was close.... i dont like how people can think a fighter CLEARLY wins such close fights like these where a lot of things are subjective... i mean, pac threw what... more then 100 more punches right? i dont know, to me... close fight, pac scored a good knockdown... just one of those fights. IMO

    this is the thing....

    when you have THIS much controversy... it means, it was NOT clear. No matter what poster here on this thread says... no... it was NOT clear, and yes it COULD go eather way, hence all the differant scorecards. Differant people judge differant fights differantly.

    Exactly. And when they say that JMM "has Pacs number" well kudos to Pac because even the guy that "has his number" was floored 4 times and hurt many more in 24 rounds against him.

    I thought Marquez won, for the record, but I didn't score while watching. This fight was closer then the first for sure, but Marquez was still countering the **** out of him and landing the more clean shots throughout.

    Here is the deal guys. You can tell that a fight went the wrong way buy thinking of it like this....

    Do you think that there would have been an uproar about Oscar getting the decision over Tito? Do you think that people would be calling that a robbery to this day? Or the second fight against Mosley? No, everyone knew that Oscar won the fight, even people silly enough to have the fight close.

    The fight may have been close, but Marquez clearly won the fight. Had Marquez got the decision I bet you wouldn't see more than one or two stray thread declaring this a bad decision. People will always complain about close fights, but it is the one's that somebody has clealry won that make people go nuts.

    I guess that I just get so frustrated because everytime boxing puts on a GREAT display of itself, and just might have won some more fans over, it shoots itself in the damn foot by screwing up on the scorecards. Just about everyone that I talk to, who likes MMA now, and doesn't follow much boxing anymore... has said that they are tired of paying money for a PPV fight, only to see the judges score a completely different fight that they have seen. They just paid 50 bucks to get frustrated and annoyed. That they can't enjoy the fights, because the entire time they watch it, they are wondering about the person getting screwed on the cards. About how they would be afraid to buy a ticket to see a boxing event, because of a huge letdown like that... about how you can't bet on boxing, because even if you make the right bet, you have just as great a chance of losing because of the awful decisions.... ect.... And it makes sense. As huge of a fan that I am, sometimes I just don't even want to think about the sport because this happens so much.

    I am tired of hearing things like, yeah, I scored it for JMM, but if you give these two rounds to Pac, and take thes from Marquez, ect... what kind of nonsense is that? If you did that, it would have been a different fight. You could just give Marquez a couple more rounds and make it a blow out. We shouldn't be finding reasons why Pac could have gotten the decision if you did this or that... we should just be able to watch a great fight, enjoy... and get the right decision. I don't care how close it is. Just because some people think that it was close, doesn't mean the right guy shouldn't get the win.

    This is true, however poll number usually hold true when a fight could have gone either way. So far tonight every poll that I have seen has JMM way out in front somewhere in the 2-1 range. Last time I checked the Poll on this site it was something like 84-60-19 which is two to one that dont think that Pac won that fight. its actaully closer to 3-1.

    Spot on mate, in fact sometimes people would favour Pac on a good punch that missed :?

    JMM fought the perfect fight to beat Pac tonight (KD aside) and its a shame that in this day and age results can still be bought :(

    If you didn't see Pac hurt, you must have been making quite a bit of trips to the bathroom during the fight.

    Pac said himself after the fight that he was very hurt by that body shot by Marquez... you missed that? Boxing isn't about the perception of possibly having hurt your opponent anyways. It is nice to hurt your opponent, and it is nice to score knockouts. However, if you get your ears boxed off, it doesn't matter if you were hurt or not... you still got outboxed.
