How many times has Manny Pacquiao told you whom to work for?

Manny is one of the biggest PPV stars in the world. He probably generates in excess of $200m in boxing revenue evvery year. He probably takes home about $10m.

Signing with Top Rank isn't a good deal. It doesn't prepare him for any legacy when he retires from boxing either. Mayweather and ODLH are/have positioned themselves to continue making money and bettering the sport after they leave. Why wouldn't Pacquiao want that?

Oscar was Arum's guy - he made more money on his own.
Mayweather was then Arum's guy - he makes FAR more money on his own.
Are we to believe thatt Pac is somehow different?

maybe so but it does not change the fact they are essentially reposting and compiling interviews and quotes from bob arum himself.

sure anyone can take quotes from someone and twist them to suit there personal agenda "health more important". so feel free to check over some of those quotes or all of them.

I don't know about the second part where you said TR will be good for PAC

But I agree that there is no need for manny to make decisions on his career for the sake of fighting floyd

Floyd hasn't shown any interest in fighting manny in recent times so he himself didn't do anything to make PAC "think twice" about re-signing
(Which IMO wasn't the best of moves but you never know)

I can't believe he won't be fighting any other top welterweights or some new talent. Now it'll either be a rematch or a catchweight fight.

So can Pacquiao fight Danny Garcia? Or will one of them have to leave their promoter?

Cotto left, got the fight. Marquez left, got the fight. Mayweather left, got Dela Hoya. Bradley had to resign to fight Pacquiao.

Don't think Mayweather's demand is anything new, he's just the first to publicly say it. He's a promoter too, just like Bob and Oscar.

Have you seen mayweathers latest video this month?quoting, "fighting pacquiao, i wouldnt be pleased with it"

"he doesnt do ppv numbers like me"

So if your pac, you would rather sign an extension. Mayweather just doesnt want any part of pac.

LOL @ a guy with the username "Hulkamania" telling people to get a life. Kidding.

Fans are reacting because it completely kills all hope of the fight. It would have been more widely accepted if Pac tested the waters first. He had the power... Arum NEEDS Pac, not vice-versa.

It depends on my promoter Bob arum. Duckquiao has to get out of Arums arms, whom he sees as his daddy

Really depends on what Arum is paying him. As you said, we don't know the details.

That being said: I think Manny could have secured more lucrative bouts by working as a free agent, and just working with Top Rank or GBP depending on what opponent "Manny decides" he wants and would be the most lucrative for him. I think we're going to miss out on some potentially great match ups, as there are some very talented fighters in the GBP stable that Manny will never face as a result. Just my opinion.

So from the outside looking in I think of it a couple ways: 1) Likely a good decision for Manny personally but 2) May be a bad decision for the fans as it limits his potential opponents.

It is what it is. You're not going to tell a man to make any other decision except what is best for him and his family. That trumps what the fans want any day and twice on Sunday. So while I'm disappointed we won't get to see some other match-ups, I can't fault Manny for "doing what he believes is best for him and his family."

Even the lord of the flies himself Arum has said ultimately the fighter decides who he wants to fight. In that we can all agree. I don't see anyone ever dictating to Hopkins to fight anyone in the last 10-15yrs. Pacman should learn from Hopkins and fight Floyd, even without Arum, at least for that fight, then go back to Arum if he wants. Floyd is equally at fault he just wants Pacman over on his side to get an even bigger piece of the pie, which from a business stance would be genius, but adding more fuel to the fire about never making business with Arum, the most powerful promoter, when he can recoup whatever losses he had with him and make more business in the long run.

TR has always been good for Pacquiao. Pacquiao got this far because of the solid competitive fights TR brought to him and of course because of Pacquiao's great ability.

If Mayweather wants this fight he would have taken it. You can't be one of the biggest stars ever in the sport if you can't make a highly demanded fight. I personally believe he opted out of this fight to milk the possibility of it happening and instead fight the likes of Ortiz and Guerrero. It's nothing but a smart business move to maximize profit fighting others instead of cashing out big and risking it all on one fight. He's the one with the excuses, nonsensical demands, insults and so forth. Pacquiao has barely responded to the shower of nonsense Mayweather has been spitting whenever the media mentions Pacquiao since 2009.
