You mean by drug cheats? Browne, Briggs and now Charr busted. Is Oquendo that good that all these guys have to juice up.

Fres Oquendo-Jean Marc Mormeck was a robbery. Reports were the McCall fight was a robbery. I never saw it. There was a brawl afterward if I remember correctly. The Byrd and Toney fights, of course, were robberies.

Tua and Ruiz beat him straight up. I had Holyfield beating him.

I thought Ruslan Chagaev legitimately decisioned him, too. But then they didn't pay Oquendo his purse, which started the whole fiasco that continues today.

You could make a solid argument Fres's record should be 41-4 (or better).

That said, no one has ever dominated him.

Even in his stoppage losses, he was miles ahead of Tua when the end came. The Ruiz fight was too ugly to even score. Neither guy did anything special.

It's surprising that given all the people he's faced over his long career, nobody has ever walked out and just beat him up. But he's done that to a few guys.

I remember when he was a young pro, he was just sort of an extra guy America Presents had signed. Then they threw him in with Duncan Dokiwari, who was supposed to be the prospect that had all the potential, and Oquendo won.

Fres derailed several rising contenders' careers. Especially Cliff Etienne and David Izon.

Fres just destroyed Etienne. At the time, that was so shocking.

The Byrd and Toney fights were bad, bad robberies and the Jean Marc Mormeck was a bad decision too.

The Holyfield fight was a bad decision too, but Oquendo hurt himself by being unassertive when he could have won running away.
