How many times, if at all, will Hopkins knock Calzaghe down, during their fight?

I really enjoy reading your posts. You my friend are one of the few guys worth reading on this forum.

I agree with your post 100%.

I also think that while Calzaghe might be a strong guy, he won't be stronger on the inside and is very likely to get offbalance as a result of Hopkins luring him into throwing the right and countering just like he did in the Tarver KD.

probably zero, unless he pulls some stunts and pushes him off balance

I've said it for a while now. Im expecting JC to suffer a flash knockdown from an over the top counter right. Won't change the result though. JC UD 118-110

I'm picking Hopkins by tko in the 11th or by SD. Plus, don't be surprised if Calzaghe comes in waaayy too wound up and excited, starts throwing a million punches and is countered by a stiff overhand right that drops him briefly.

I agree with you.... that Dorfmeister makes some great points... good poster.

I will have to disagree with you about Hopkins being stronger on the inside. Joe has outmuscled EVERY fighter he's been in the ring with. I thought he might get outmuscled against Kessler. I thought Lacy may be the stronger guy on the inside. I thought Byron Mitchell looked two two weight divisions higher than Calzaghe... Do you know what? Not only did Joe match them for strength on the inside, but he eventually got on top of them and did the bullying in there himself. These were big guys. Joe's not small either and with this extra 7lbs he's been needing for many years, I see him being at the very least, an equal to Hopkins. If Hopkins tires, Joe is going to get the upper hand there. Joe's no dummy, he knows how to win fights. He knows he can't go jumping in, pansying around in this fight. As he said, he's looking to sit down on his punches more and put more into them. His speed helps him enormously against Hopkins. I think his hand speed and movement is going to win this fight for him.

Yeah just like Hopkins did against Taylor right, when he started fighting around round 6 and threw about 10 punches per round.

    Calzaghe UD 118-109

Hopkins TKO 4 after knocking him down 3 or 4 times.
