I'm talking about the guys who would stick by God even if a series of losses happened(we all damn well know it would be a divine sacrifice to prove some spiritual point) and the guys who currently rate him in the top 15 P4P and mean it.

The ones who are on the Mijares express for life.:good

Let's list them out, if you are a hardcore Mijares fan for life and a follower of Cristianity then speak:

Win or lose (which wont happen any time soon), I'll always be a fan of Mijares. The technicall ability, subtle skill, defense, footwork, jab, and combination punching are things of beauty. He's so adaptable too - offensively and defensively. He can fight in close, firing off short/accurate countering combinations, he can fight from mid range, and he can fight off of the backfoot while constantly pumping the jab.

I hadn't seen him before the Arce fight, but watching his performance live left me speachless. The thing that is scary: he's still relatively young and could improve.

Definately a fan. I don't see how anyone cannot be a fan of his. He (along with the two great warriors from last night) may be the guys who finally give the lighter fighters the recognition they've deserved.

:good People are waiting and waiting for the heavyweight division to pick up and getting disappointed at the lack of excitement. All they need to do to find it is move down 6 or 7 weight classes.

Well, if, in fact, he does lose like you say, it'll be obvious you guys overrate the hell out of him. As it is, I simply can't see it happening, so I don't think that's true.

This is one of few times I'll say it with a young fighter(as I'm usually very hesitant to praise a fighter until they've really proven themselves, which is why I'm a bigger fan of boxing history than modern boxing) but he's definitely one of the most skilled I've ever seen around his weight class. I think he's a star, ATG skills.

Cristian Mijares is a boxing master of ****ing disaster. We should be honored to see such masterful boxing skills on display when we see him fight. I enjoy watching his fights go 12 rounds, its 12 rounds of the sweet science incarnate...He has skills that most fighters could only DREAM of! Count me in!!

Absolutley! The HW division has been so dull the past years. The little men are carrying the sport right now.

What fighter from the past, if any, does Mijares remind you of?

I am not a fan like you guys in that sense yet, but I can't help but appreciate great skills to the fullest extent, which you know, and I definitely see a lot in him. It's fair to say I'll be rooting for him whenever he fights, and hyping him to friends, etc.

Don't know if I'm ready to be on board for LIFE, but I certainly do appreciate his skills (a lot)... Seeing him live on the undercard of Kelly-Taylor 2 added a bit to that, as well. Even if I thought he would, and WANTED him, to knock Navarro out.

Welcome aboard, we should all seek to showcase him to all of the boxing fans we know. Lower weight division fighters need all of the fans they could get and I am sure it would thrill Cristian to know that a diverse, growing group of purist fans appreciate his work to the fullest.

It's just a shame that the critics and boxing experts, like Dan Rafael, which nothing against him, he's 10x as knowledgable as Bert Sugar and crew, just pay him no attention.

You may like this though, we have the best commentator in the World in our Mijares fanbase, Mr. Al Bernstein, he's a cemented fan of Mijares and whenever he comes up in commentary, has boosted him pretty well.:yep :good

He didn't knock him out, but he mauled his face. Navarro was a bit of stylistic difficulty for Mijares, one of my good friends pointed that out a while back and I refused to agknowledge it, but Navarro taking 3 rounds and landing the odd shot here and there showed what my friend was saying as true.

Navarro has more of a bad style for Mijares than the top 5 guys do. Montiel and Munoz are just tailor made for Cristian and will get badly outclassed when those bouts come around.

I personally had it 117-111 Mijares, it was a fantastic performance and he threw every punch in the book. Some of the defensive manuvers he did while counter punching were highlight reel top material moments, the only shame is that even how slick he is and how good his defensive technique is, he neglects it sometimes in order to in fight.

That being said, he does get hit less than most of the 112-115 pounders do in fact, a testament to his defensive wizard skill level when he does use it.

He's what boxing is all about. Don't think he's featherfisted either, he's the only guy to stop Kawashima, out of a group of decent punchers.:good
