I don't have a shrine that I pray or worship to every night, but I'm definitely a fan. Love the way he boxes and how he would let loose with beautiful accurate combinations every now and then. I think he's a fantastic fighter. He's a good defensive fighter even when he throws punches.he has sense of alert and always aware whatever it is thats coming back at him. He may not hit that hard punch for punch , but his punch output makes up for his lack of power.
:fire We've already been over this...I was on here trumpeting him as an unreal phenom DURING the Arce fight - marking my official conversion to Cristianity several hours before even you, Apostle Amsterdam.
I think the most important thing that seperates a "supernatural" fighter is their finesse in the ring, They move as if it was effortless and Mijares has that vibe when you watch him. They're just ridiculously "natural" when they fight.

:think That's true...my spiritual transformation to the high state of nirvana was not complete until I had reviewed online footage of His previous miracles abroad. My faith has only grown stronger with each dominant title defense, culminating in the martyrdom of brave St. Jose.
I actually picked Mijares over Arce, of course not knowing of his full ability, but just reviewing his overlooked record at that point. He was the only fighter ever to stop Kawashima. In viewing the Arce fight, my faith was established immediatley, in viewing how he finished the Arce fight in the twelth round, still throwing 4 and 5 shot combinations, I knew I was witnessing a God and have never doubted him once since that fateful night. God Mijares is here to save the lower weight classes, the effects are slowly but surely being seen. He is a ring genius.
I picked Arce since I hadn't seen Mijares fight nor did I analyze his resume. But after the first minute or two, I knew Arce was ****ed. Plus I got the feeling that Mijares was something special.
Hell yeah man. I never seen Mijares before the Arce fight. But I swear to god on this..when the first round was over I looked at everyone in our room and I said Arce is going to get his ****in ass wupped. And that was the case...school was in session for 12 rounds. There hasn't been a fighter that I've seen by just watching ONE round and instantly jumping to conclusions..All I needed was one round and I was a believer in Mijares.
I have the feeling that Montiel's management would like to avoid a unification match with Mijares. I bet you that Mijares gets Munoz instead sometime soon(Munoz isn't really a draw and has travelled and fought a variety of risks). Or maybe the management is on a confidence high after Montiel sent Castillo's remaining career down the drain. I would never suggest that Montiel himself is the avoiding type, but most fighters have little say unless they are a big money maker. I rewatched Mijares-Navarro, 'twas masterful and I appreciated it more the 2nd time around.
