How Many Truly World Class Heavies Has The UK Produced?

Depends what you mean by that.

Before the current era(2015 onwards) Phil Scott, Farr, Cooper, Bugner, Bruno, Lennox, Akinwande and Haye are the 8 clearest cut elites.

The next rung to get some sort of title chance would be Fitz, Gunner Moir, Iron Hague, Wells, Joe Beckett, Woodcock, Cockell, London, Dunn, Danny Williams, Skelton, Herbie Hide, Julius Francis and Audley Harrison.

These last 10 years have blown the previous 110 out of the water. You've got Dubois, Tyson Fury, AJ, Itauma, Okolie, Whyte, Joyce, Chisora, Wardley and Hughie Fury.

 

It was a chronological list.

Skelton is the latest bloomer in boxing history and Phil Scott and Iron Hague were world class. Hughie Fury is one of the dozens of fighters frozen out in this era it's hard to tell what exactly he was or wasn't.

 

a lot of people might not think Tex Cobb was world classed, nor George Chuvalo, hell even Chuvalo joked I didn't have too much trouble with the 5 - 10 guys, it was the top 4 I couldn't get by...

World Classed fighters are plentiful, the TOP Elite are the rare ones... many of those UK guys are World Classed, of course they were and consistently found themselves there by the Boxing Trade Papers, Press, Fighters, Managers and Fans.

You admit you rate hard, but you are not the voice of Boxing Mac, nor the Recorded History.

Boxing has enough problems without denying Top & Good fighters their place, especially if they already had it!

Mayweather said Gatti was a C class fighter, which we all know was a bit harsh, Gatti was a great basic boxer & fighter, B Class sure, with the odd A Class possibility, some would wrongly say the same about Haugen, but that too is harsh. Hatton same...

the point is some of those UK Heavyweights are World Classed as the Recorded History pointed out, that's all.

Boxing News for Brits and even Americans, Europeans and campaigning empire fighters while in the UK...
the Press, Reporters and even letters from fans...

You know this, Recorded History, so why would you ask questions like that when you know these are the resources we all refer too and rely on. Text books and the like...

You can use this line to discredit any fighter who mostly stuck to their regional scene. Yeah he has no notable wins except Moir and he didn't live up to his potential but we know he was generally "for real". Whose to say he wouldn't have beaten a Tommy Burns in 1909?
