How many upsets would we get in time machine boxing matches?

We have fights like Tom Sharkey vs Mike Tyson. We are so sure that prime Tyson destroys Sharkey, but what if we had some magic that could make it happen and Sharkey outboxed and KO'd prime Tyson in 3 rounds? Or what if Jim Corbett flattened Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield? How many upsets do you think would occur?

I think there would be six upsets.

Not very many, unless the man with the time machine is uneducated.

Would be funny to see shocked posters after Tom Sharkey KO in 3 1988 Mike Tyson

I'd be more shocked by the fact someone decided the best use of a time machine is to pit Tyson vs Tom Sharkey.

I'm sure that most things you could do in a time machine just come down to personal preference at the end of the day. You've got all the time in the world.

Admit it, you would bet all of your mortgage money on Sailor Tom

True. To be fair, if I had one, I'd be the richest man in the world and I'd happily watch every great fight never filmed.

The real problem would be surviving time travel with a kidnapped Mike Tyson

I would, then I'd go back in time over and over again until he finally won.

I'm sure that you could convince him to come with you, but it'd become his time machine at a certain point.

I'm sure you could trick him into doing it. Imagine leaving Mike Tyson in 1898

Bad time for Mike. He'd probably enjoy meeting Jack Johnson, though.

Boxing would be outlawed as Tyson massacres every boxer of the day. The powers that be would declare Boxing illegal after seeing those 170 pound fighters marching forward in a straight line with no defense and throwing punches from left field meeting a prime Mike Tyson in ring center. Every fight Tyson would have would resemble Tyson vs Frazier

    A **** load.

It would be like actual fights, but with a lot more uncertainties and assumptions.

Agreed. Remember even something like Louis beating Ali would be regarded as an upset, in terms of how the majority would vote. There’d be plenty, just like in real life.

The comedic responses here by everyone have been gold, BTW.
