surprises me when anybody who's fought would view other fighters that way but yea, i guess you are more so than a lot on here!
Truth is, in order to be a pro boxer alone you need to be TOUGH, let alone to be a top name in a division I still remember the first time I sparred with a really good guy, amateur champion, who went hard on me. It was some scary **** I admit, I have mocked Amir Khan's chin in the past, but that same hook from Garcia that put him on ***** street, would probably put ME to sleep for a whole day Tbh, most of us just don't take things too seriously here and some people just want to troll, or to have fun at the expense of fighters, specially if they don't like them
so you do box just not at the moment then? don't understand some peoples strange need to always be a dick. its a simple thread with a simple question, i wanted to know who on here has or does box. jeeez. if you don't box mate, don't be ashamed, I'm sure theres a gym nearby.
that i do get. everybody has fighters they like to watch and those they don't. Its more about threads where people are practically imploding because they hate one fighter or another so badly that i find weird. anyways, there was no hidden agenda here. just wanted to know how many of you guys on a boxing forum actually box :good
Im guessing on this section of the site more users here will be actively boxing. I put it in the general forum as thats where most of the questionable users are..
I'm a boxing trainer. I work with amateurs and pros in Eastern Europe...Georgia, to be precise, although I'm British.
thats interesting, what took you out there if you don't mind me asking. or did you grow up in Georgia?
I boxed off and on for 6 years. Had some success but few fights, was good enough to get called up for sparring when someone needed to work on stand up for a fight (had some pro fighter friends) so I mustve been doing something right lol.
Nah I grew up in Worcestershire haha got sent out here with the Army on a training exercise years back, met a girl here, moved out here three years ago after my discharge and got married haha. I'd been a fighter in the battalion so I started boxing amateur here, but then they offered me a job as a trainer since the style here is pretty different...there's not been any Georgian world champions for a reason. Not that they bloody listen mind you ahaha. How about you?
still boxing, had 5 am fights, looking for more i am injuried in this moment, but will be back in a month
i trained, only as a hobby for my health, 1 am bout, won by tko, shoulder injury stopped me from continuing, getting on a bit now.
ahh- should've posted in here in the first place!! thanks for the insightful answers so far. makes me realise its easy to spot people who love boxing and those who just take pleasure in criticising fighters. myself, i started boxing around 11 years old, although i was hampered a bit in that 1- my dad loved boxing and encouraged me, but my mum, being a religious person hated the idea of violence. so i was on and off for 3 or 4 years. started properly at around 14 and have continued since (I'm now 27) would have loved to turn pro in an ideal world, but various things stopped me, my dads death, and being moved over to tenerife or a spell. i now live in malaysia, which is fantastic, as i regularly go over to thailand for training in lots of different forms of combat. have some great coaches out here in asia. ****- sorry for lack of paragraphs…..
