How many weight divisions do you think Lomo can conquer?

And i dont mean no CW draining BS

And i dont mean taking on the easiest paper "champ" then scrappy dooing the hell out of there

I mean properly staking his place in the division as one of its best

The guy has all the talent in the world

    How high can he go?

Or do you think he's gonna remain around the same division for most of his career ala Zaggers?

I think everyone should know there limitations & ceiling! I expect him to fight no higher than LIGHTWEIGHT really.. But you never know! LWW might be a stretch..

    Lightweight is probably his limit.

    He's a natural lightweight.

No more than lighweight, he actually looked less impressive in the olympics as a lightweight, when he looked just great as a featherweight.
Loma skill can translate great to many divisions, but he is on his mid twenties, so he probably reached his biggest frame as a lightweight and even there, he looks less fast, explosive and powerful.

He could top out at champ level at 140, but that's stretching it. If we're talking absolute peak, I think that's 130.

I think he could get a belt against a very mediocre belt holder at 140 but nothing beyond that.
He just wont be as good at 135. At FW/SFW I consider him TBE level...I strongly suspect it wont be the case at 135.

Loma was noticeably slower at lightweight than at featherweight in the amateurs.

Realistically, I suspect Lomachenko will retire having earned titles in four different weight divisions (126, 130, 135, 140). The latter weight (140), however, will likely require some favorable/careful matchmaking.

Moreover, as others here have suggested, Lomachenko's optimum weight is probably 130lbs. Nonetheless, I'm not as pessimistic about his potential for success at 135lbs. Will he be as absurdly quick at 135lbs as he presently is at 130lbs? Probably not. That said, if Lomachenko retains 75-80% of his athleticism at 135lbs, which I believe he can, he'll still be an elite level, fast twitch performer at lightweight.

How do you think he compares with these guys at 130

    Pep
    Saddler
    Mayweather
    Arguello
    B Leonard

I believe Lomachenko is the best 126/130lber ever and would beat them all (widely beats Arguello, beats prime Mayweather 9-3) BUT I find it hard to discuss Pep/Saddler because their physiques were adjusted to a 15 round fight and more fights per year - its almost like a 1000m vs 400m sprinters + different rules - Saddler and Pep were able to fight and grapple on the inside the way todays generation is simply not allowed to.
B Leonard was an innovator ahead of his time who taught generations after him, I feel he was eclipsed by the very best by the birth of the PED era in the mid 40's.

Nice answer. Loma is indeed ridiculous

We should copy and paste the question on to the Classic and see how they see it

I'll post the thread, you copy and paste your response, and we'll see where we end up!
