Watched his fights against Gaetan Hart and Alexis Arguello 1 again today. Forgotten just how awesome the man was.
Fought and won a world ***le at 140 because the likes of Kenty and Watt knew what would happen at 135 if they shared a ring with him . Punched hard enough to take out every challenger at 140.
While dropped several times, never seriously hurt.
Engine like a steam train and outstanding, fluid boxing ability.
135 and 140 are obvious, but how much higher do you think Pryor could have gone if he'd been fighting today?

Any calls for less than three would be silly when you're talking about comparing him to the success of Adrien Broner! Haymon would get Pryor three weight world titles inside of a year for God's sake. I'd go with 154 too but I don't want to get too ahead of it considering he was pretty small. But for a gimmick alone it'd be easy to snatch three weights in the way Broner did it. If you had Pryor's ability. I won't say about lineal.

Oh yeah and if he was where Broner's at now there's no way I wouldn't try to get him in with Cotto and try for 160. He might end up having a field day lineal or not.

Pacquiao would beat him, Pryor wasn't all that against southpaws.

Not sure how Pryor would deal with 140lbers that are closer to middleweights, nor if he'd be the same fighter if he cut to 126 or so.

Make everyone weigh in on the day again and I'd have no worries picking him against Lomachenko? Jhonny Gonzalez, Walters, Frampton etc at 140.

He'd be small at lightweight today.

Agreed. Watching slow, mediocre Saul Alvarez hit fresh air for 36 minutes against Mayweather makes me think that 'The Hawk' who was in the mood to box and move would cruise to titles at 154 too.

I see what you did there. Shame on you for first claiming that Manny Pacquiao stops the granite-chinned, iron-willed, more skilled, bigger and stronger Aaron Pryor, and then intentionally mixing up the great man with some inferior guy from the Virgin Islands.

He could get one at 54, but he'd be a pretty mediocre tut list at that weight

Meet you half way and agree that Pacquiao could trouble Pryor, but stop him? Not without a baseball bat.

Maybe two, stopping at welterweight, in his heyday, there was no way he's beating Donald Curry, Milton McCrory, Thomas Hearns, or even Ray Leonard, or Marlon Starling.

    LW, LWW, WW.

The matter probably only a paper title.

I'm a huge fan of the Hawk but I dont see him winning even a WW title. Its just the size difference he was small for 140 and to call him reckless would be an understatement. The frequent flash KD's at 140 could become serious trouble at 147 especially with some guys getting into the near 6'0 range. Dont forget Pryor was barely 5'6. Thats a big physical disadvantage to overcome every single fight for a wild pressure fighter.
