Paul Williams Leonard's first win is basically his best But that is in part due to hearns cowardly tendencies, and china chin
Not many, that's for sure. Fighters with power, chin and heart that can walk him down is the best bet i feel. I dont think we are looking for people that will outbox him, he had too much reach speed and skill for that. Leonard naturally, Robinson might have been able to bomb him out. I will give it some thought and come back.
I think Marlon Starling could possibly beat Tommy, if he took away his jab.It would be a frustrated Hearns either way.
Not many. It took one of the very best welters ever to barely get by him in Leonard in '81. And that prime version of Leonard damn near lost. Somebody that could get up underneath him maybe, like the style of an Armstrong, but Armstrong was too small a welter to get it done, I think. He crushes anybody that stands right in front of him though. The obvious one everyone will say is Robinson, and it may well take a guy like that. A young Hearns is a nightmare for anyone. Many will say, "Oh, his chin was exposed against Leonard, too thin, couldn't take it to the body, blah blah blah..."..............what utter crap. They need to come up with a new line, because they seem to be forgetting it took a guy like a prime Ray Leonard to get that job done (barely). No one else at that time had a prayer of pulling that off.
He's too big for Napoles. LMR perhaps. I almost want to say Walker but I'm not sure he could get inside....
I loved the 1940s fighters because of the deep pool of boxers fighting OFTEN, but aside from the best fighter I ever saw WW Ray Robinson, I think only Ray Leonard might have beaten Tommy Hearns who has been a favourite of mine, as much for his demeanor, as his considerable skills...
:huhFrom tetanus? [By the way, have you have YOUR shot against tetanus yet? Quoting tetanus in a post does expose you, you know.]
