I see quite a few boxers at Gary Masons funeral at All Saints church in Wallington including Frank Bruno and Lennox Lewis. Very sad day, but it was nice to see all these guys coming to pay their respects.

It was at the UFC fan expo last year. He was there with Ecko btw. He got a pretty low score the first time then missed the second time  His score was beaten by 135lb UFC fighter Miguel Torres. There's a video of it on youtube somewhere. But it proves that those punch machines are bull****.

    Vinny Pazienza
    Juan Manuel Lopez
    Yuriorkis Gamboa

...and depending on how you feel about the IBO's legitimacy, you can throw Sakio Bika and Mike Oliver in there as well.

Plus, there have probably been dozens of retired "local/regional boxing luminaries" paraded into the ring (particularly at the shows at the Roxy) - guys like John Scully - and while some of them may have held an alphabet title at some point Paz is the only one that springs immediately to mind.

Lopez and Gamboa (as well as Bika and Oliver, assuming legitimacy for the IBO) are the only active boxers I've seen who went on to become 'world champs'.

I actually missed out on a chance recently to see the return of former champ "El Gallo" Jose Antonio Rivera. I was free for the original date but they rescheduled it before I got tickets to a day that didn't work for me. :!:
