how many world class fighters do we really have?

if mack had been given the decision he deserved against sturm, would he be world class then?

All bar Fury have proved it imo and with Fury, I can't see anyone in the division other than Wlad and Pulev beating him so been the #3 guy makes him a word class boxer imo.

Quigg has the potential to be world class, but he needs to prove it in his next fight (although saying that, I had him winning the fight against Salinas. A draw was a poor decision imo).

Then there's a number of fringe world class guys like Brook, Khan, Macklin, McDonnell etc.

 

I'm not a massive fan of Khan's but to omit his name just because he hasn't looked fantastic for the last couple of fights is ridiculous. He is operating in the hardest 2 divisions compared to any British boxer apart from Brook, and he is as skilled or more so than the majority of Brit boxers out there. He has fought come of the toughest opponents and is a former two weight, multiple world champion. He's got a good resume and only 27 years old. He has at least 3-4 years left in him.

Also, you don't have to be world champion to be world class, anyone who operates at a competitive level on world level is world class. Brook hasn't won a major title yet but he definitely is world class.

 

In my opinion Kell Brook has got to be considered top level and he also has the highest ceiling. A lot depends on his chin, fitness and all around resilience. However, he is capable of almost punch perfect displays and is an awesome technical.

A lot with him depends on what is going on between the top six inches. Personally I think he hasn't got what it takes to be a long standing world champion. Not dedicated enough.

 

What "class"would you call Macklins performances against two great champs, Sturm and Sergio. You idiot, :nut

 

Yer, like the above said you could class World Class as top 5, and I don't see Khan as ever being a Top5 147er, he definitely was at a point a top 140er though.

Fury and Brook are potential ones but i have a strong belief that Brook will be badly found out soon, i think theirs a reason why neither him or Eddie have had him fight anyone decent, i don't think they even believe he is a world class fighter, Fury is possible as only Wlad beats him 100% right now, but to be fair he is only near the top of the HW division because it is so **** poor at the moment being number 3 in this era wouldn't be enough to get you into the top 15 of other era's.
