Roberto won titles at lightweight, welterweight,lt middle and middle.
At lightweight he defended 12 times including unifying in his last defense.
At the other weights funnily enough he lost each title in his first defense, but then his first defenses were against ray leonard twice and tommy hearns...
He also fought and lost for the middleweight crown again when aged 47...
Also bear in mind he completely skipped lt welter and could have won another title there as well...

Was World Lightweight Champion and had a claim to be World Welterweight Champion. He lost in an attempt at the vacant Light Middleweight Championship of the World and of course to Hagler for the World Middleweight Championship.

You can only post 10,000 letters for each post, so there is not enough space to list his pieces of alphabet crap.;)

    Lightweight, WBA, 1972.
    Lightweight, WBC, 1978.

    Welterweight, WBC, 1980.

    Jr middleweight, WBA, 1983.

    Middleweight, WBC, 1989.

I might be wrong on this, but I'm sure Duran had 21 world title fights.

Need to add this in: Duran's last world title fight was against William Joppy for the WBA middleweight title, 1998. So, thats 22 world title fights.

Duran lost the WBC welterweight title against Leonard in his first defense, New Orleans.

The WBA jr middleweight title wasn't defended as he never fought #1 contender McCallum, he was stripped of the belt and fought Hearns for the WBC version, losing inside 2 rounds.

After Duran beat Barkley for the WBC middleweight title, he vacated the title to challenge for Leonard's WBC super-middleweight title.

So, he only lost one title in his first defense. Stripped with one, and vacated the other.

He wasn't 47 when he beat Barkley, he was 37.
