Or maybe it had something to do with the WBC giving him a deadline and rushing him into the fight which wasn't a possibility due high demands of both sides?
His side of the story claimed he dropped the belt so they could negotiate a proper deal to make sure the bout came together. If you look back , the negotiations went on and on , with GGG truing down various flat fee's and wotnot so evidently it wasn't a fight that could be put together in the time frame Jose Suilamon wanted.
And Canelo often said his body wouldn't be rushed up to MW which is fair enough isn't it?
If you ask me , it was a mixture of all 3 factors.

That was the problem I agree, or one of them. The original flat fee was a low ball offer that GGG had to turn down considering the money involved

    Yep, afraid so.

At least a decade of Mayweather's career was dedicated to pitty-patty choreographed mitt routines and avoiding anyone who might actually provide him with a challenge. He was a pretty good boxer, but if you know anything about the sport his TBE nonsense is farcical.

I never said it was bad, Dude asked me what makes him washed in my opinion. The objective is ALWAYS the money. I would never knock the hustle.

Getting paid in a couple of big fights makes him washed? The heck does washed even mean? It's always the money. No one gets in to professional boxing as a hobby.

They offered him $25 million flat. He still didn't get that when the gate and PPV came back, so really he ****ed himself thinking that they had the public's money to depend on to back them up. Once again these million plus internet GGG fans didn't buy the fight like intended but knew every round of the clown show a few weeks prior.

No, not at all. But looking like trash against a mid level welter weight and a former cancer patient and then being told what to do and who to fight by Oscar ( back when GGG though about fighting Billy Joe Saunders and Oscar publicly told him if he does the Canelo fight is off) and then waiting around like lil ole ***** for a fight date just to make less money than the guaranteed flat fee is stupid ANNNNDDDD not knowing how to adjust against a guy who fights the same way everytime after being touted as having better ring generalship than Mayweather, by Billy C, yet getting your head beat in is being WASHED THE **** UP!!!!!

Here let Dr Theodore Atlas tell you :
