How many years will Wladimir Rule?

You can say that, now, and he may also agree, now but if he were to retire at only 34, he'd soon start to miss the glory and fame, attention and money that goes along with championship boxing. And he'd soon decide that it'd be a waste to give that all up when he's still young enough to continue.

Same as Vitali is doing, now. He'll be 36 when he returns, and I bet he'll fight on for a couple more years past 36.

A fighter's ego and thirst for the fame and glory seldom lets them retire while still young enough and healthy enough to continue.

 

There's no-one around at the moment that looks good enough to beat him, but he doesn't exactly 'rule' at the moment anyway.

It's like it was in the mid 80-s, just needs a special fighter to come along and clear up the ****. Tyson came along and within 2 years had pretty much became dominant, lets hope someone similar is waiting in the wings right now.

 

I think Povetkin may work himself into something great, in a year or so.

But other than Povetkin,possibly in the future, and Chagaev and Peter, now, I don't see anyone else being considered even a threat to Wlad.

(Sanders needs tobe avenged, too, but that's another thread)

 

I suspect Wlad will never loose a UD, the only way he will loose will be like against hard hitters like Sanders or Brewster.I'm not sure Povetkin has the power to take him out but time will tell. And chagaev and Peter are still threats.
