Floyd beats Hatton on the inside and outside but Cortez was still a joke

He was jumping in wayyyy to fast sometimes

Hatton made things tricky for Floyd early in the fight, Floyd HIMSELF has admitted it was one of his toughest fights..............not that the result was ever in doubt, but Floyd needed to be switched on every second of the fight cause Hatton was on him non stop

Refs need to be consistent in how they manage fights, and Cortez did not ref this fight the way he did the HAtton v Castillo fight.

If you cant do your job consistently then you aint qualified to do it

Refs don't allow excessive clinching in the early rounds.

    Plus

Hatton admitted Floyd was TOO MUCH for him on the INSIDE so Cortez actually did Ricky a favor:deal:deal:deal

I wouldn't say that Mayweather 'beat Hatton at his own game'. He started the fight by using movement and catching Hatton as he came in, punishing him for his aggression with the right hand lead on the outside. When Hatton got on the inside, Mayweather didn't do much punching -- he ducked low or clinched to force a break. He did do a good job of neutralising Hatton at that range (Hatton rarely landed flush punches) but he wasn't exactly fighting on the inside, at least not consistently. He was more interested in outboxing Hatton from range. He only started unloading combinations at middle range once Hatton had deteriorated from the outside pot shots. Also, the shot that Mayweather used to pretty much end the match was the check hook while he was moving back, where he once again lured Hatton in with movement and caught him.

Mayweather doesn't really do much inside fighting in general. He does sometimes like to throw a couple of body shots in the clinch, but he prefers to just defend and hold at that range. He can handle himself on the inside, but he's clearly better on the outside.

As for Hatton -- his biggest issue was that he just couldn't land many flush punches on Mayweather. He was able to close the distance fairly well, and he was also able to get to the inside, when Cortez wasn't pulling him away instantly. When he was there, however, Mayweather just rolled, blocked and twisted away from most of his shots. Hatton was known for being a body puncher, and yet barely landed any of them on Mayweather. The only one I've seen who had consistent success against Mayweather on the inside is Castillo.

Floyd can fight anywhere and still get his guaranteed money from SHOWTIME, RIGHT ? Do you think the only reason Floyd fight in Vegas is because it's the fight capital of the world ? DUMBASS:patsch

Las Vegas is the fight capital of the world. Your opinion on this issue is irrelevant because you can't refute that fact.

I was never a big fan of Hatton (though think I underestimated him a fair bit, looking back) but I also felt he spent too long and too much of his prime with the WBU title. He had been in around 40 fights before facing Tsyzu which seemed alot.

before the Floyd fight, Cortez did his job with Hatton/Castillo. then changes in the Hatton/Floyd fight in an absolutely criminal performance. then changes again for Hopkins/Calzaghe fight.

notice how he changes to give the advantage to the American fighter.

Cortez was a crook. that's why i have the Hatton/Floyd fight as a no contest. Ricky got ripped off to high heaven. Cortez tried to do the same to Joe but was unsuccessful.

So, this is the reason Floyd only fight in Vegas?

Floyd is the only boxer who only fight in one place. Must be in the Guinness World records

Hatton got KOed because he was getting schooled and Floyd made him gas a little. You could see Hatton was slowing down and getting sloppier towards the end of the fight.

Vegas is the fight capital of the world period end of discussion. You can't be taken seriously if you continue to argue against that.
