I think hatton takes it at catchweight providing he isnt as badly damaged as most think, people are underestimating HAtton around here for his defeats, but he held his own against Mayweather for 10 rounds, it did start gettin a little one-sided after 7 but still... Marquez wasnt in it from the opening bell so hatton musnt be that bad, and were 4getting Marquez was dropped 3 times in the 1st round by pacquaio... and hes not hated on for his chin. Hatton has always said even when Cotto was a light welter that cotto gets disheartened when the other guy is taking his shots a point i fink proven to be factual. Im taking Hatton here!!

It would be a war that Cotto will win. Unfortunately we will not see this fight.

Cotto takes this via mid rounds KO. Its a battle of left hooks, body punchers. Speed will dictate this fight, and from what Ive seen in Cotto, especially in the Pac fight, he has some great speed (round 1)

Let me tell you something Cotto well rested could come back and do well.

I think Hatton is good only at 140 and could beat Cotto UD in this vicinity.
145 could be an interesting match up for the two still I would pick Cotto for a UD win or maybe a late round stoppage.

I would not right off Hatton just yet. It took the pond 4 pound to beat him 2X. Cotto and Hatton have 2 losses a piece Hatton took far less punishment. Hatton is faster but Cotto has size and power advantages. This fight was very interesting to me when they were both undefeated and had questionable chins. Like right after Cotto and Torres and Hatton vs Collazo I was like to guys who can bang and bralw but can be stopped. I would favor Cotto but root for Hatton. Fight can go many ways. Cotto could get an early KO. Hatton could maul and work to a 12 round descision. It would be action packed and competitive. Neither guy goes out without a fight and made their losses a fight.

At his peak Hatton would have beaten a peak Cotto clearly. However, Hatton's punch resistance is gone so today Cotto probably takes it

Who really knows what both their fights with the Pacman have taken out of them.
    IMO,Hatton would get seriously hurt.

There are still some pretty decent fights left in the 140-147 losers bracket. Cotto - Hatton is one, or Cotto could fight the Hatton - Marquez winner, or he could go straight to Margocreto. I'd hate to see him take that fight immediately though, he needs some rest badly.

Cotto by KO/TKO, Hattons punch resistance has gone. Only feather fisted Mallinaggi hasn't had him holding on for dear life in his recent fights. I could actually see him going down off Cottos jab, repeatedly jumping forward into it with his left hand cocked.

As an Englishman I have no shame in saying that I would be rooting for Cotto too. I find Hattons lifestyle repugnant. For a supposed 'Elite' professional sportsman to balloon up into such bad shape, living on a diet of Guinness and fried breakfasts when many would kill to be in the position he is. Eurgh.... I cannot stick him or his moronic idiot fans and their songs.

The hatton that beat tszyu would've given cotto nightmares at 140, but now his punch resistance seems to have gone. This would be goodnight as soon as Cotto lands a decent combo to the head :nut
