Maybe the Hatton that came to fight Tszyu would give Cotto some trouble, although I don't think Ricky on his best day can beat Cotto on his best......
I actually rather see this fight rather than a Cotto-Castillo fight. Ricky doesn't have the chin nor the technique to be Cotto though. Look at the the two guys who beat Cotto: Margarito brought a granite chin, the workrate and stamina, Pacquiao brought his speed chin and power to the table as well. Ricky doesn't have any of these qualities. Between Hatton and Cotto, Cotto had more success and atleast at one point was in the fight with manny than Hatton ever was. I'd say Cotto by 9th round KO
when looking back on hatton's career and watching footage of his fights, it's hard to understand how he did so well.... There were always signs that he was inadequate. his fight against collazo exposed him badly and if collazo had more will to win he would have easily won that fight. as freddy roach said, Hatton "wasn't that good"
Cotto would knock him in the middle rounds I think...If Ricky couldn't push Cotto backwards than he would be stopped in 4 or 5 IMO...Cotto can fight Ricky's fight all night and beat him at it..He can also box around him as he is alot faster but if he doesn't have to than I don't see Cotto "boxing" in this fight at all
you can see the difference between cotto/hatton with the pacquiao fights cotto takes 12 rds of punishment ricky in **** state in the first 15 secondsatsch
if Hatton can survive the first few rounds, then he can exert himself. Cotto has a habit of becoming de-moralized by his hardest opponents, so Hatton could well dominate the later rounds and get a decision or late TKO.
Hatton is finished at the elite level (if he was ever really there). Cotto takes him out early and brutally.
5 years ago, great fight. now, cotto destroys hatton. rick has need to retire for YEARS. litterally YEARS. (prolly since the paulie fight).
