    King was charging him 30%, yet he fired Rooney who was taking 'too much' (basic 10% fee)

    10% is not standard when a fighter is making tens of millions

    also rooney was never a top dog trainer anyway

    finally the REASON tyson as making huge sums was because he was promotor effectivley by the best in the business

    pac is paying the American IRS for his earnings in US. pacquiao is paying the philippine BIR for earnings in philippines which is not necessarily increasing coz it only depends on local advertisements and shows.

    pac also is self-managed so he doesn't give big cuts like tyson was giving to his two managaers. floyd has a manager in haymon and promoter in hoya. they could be getting big more cuts from floyd than arum is getting from pac. also oscar advanced floyd some loans when he has some IRS problems so oscar is getting some interest out of it.

    Thanks for the read, I think people are ripping Mike here a little. I am not denying he was foolish with his money but I think once King and Givens were in his life he was ****ed, these people had a lot of influence on Mike, getting rid of the people who were looking out for him. These people were vultures looking to feather there own nests, end of.

    I am glad Mike is in a better place now. ****ing parasites.

    It is standard for the big name trainers. Futch took 10%. I also know Tyson agreed to give Rooney 10% before he started making megabucks.
    I think the credit for that should go to Cayton and Jacobs

    Look, Mike wast the smartest or brightest person around, his family were useless and the one person who looked out for him more than anybody died. King ****ed him over because he knew Mike wasnt smart and could get away with ripping him off. I really hope Don King dies, hopefully brutally murdered by one his whores.

    :lol: at Rooney not be a top dog trainer. For TYSON he was. He not only knew Cus D"Amato's philosophy on fighting, he knew that specific style and how it worked. And he also knew Tyson and what made him click to be great.
    NO OTHER TRAINER AFTER PROVED BETTER.

    Rooney didn't need to know anything else other than how to train Tyson.

    He didn't set out to be a trainer. Cus made him one specifically to train his creation.

    Yeah, the reason Tyson was making money was because he was well trained by the Catskill Team and promoted by those Cus entrusted...Bill Cayton and Jimmy Jacobs who listened to the advice of Cus on how to promote him. It was Cus who created it. Jacobs said Cus left specific instructions on exactly what to do. Cus was a Manager by nature. That's how he started. Go back in your history book and see how he handled Floyd Patterson and I will let you find a key moment in how he got Floyd "PAID" when others were not. King likes to think he started it but he wasn't. He is full of ****. Others made big time money before him. We can even go back to Dempsey.

    Tyson's handlers video taped him since he was 13. Called their connections to watch the young phenom train and grow. He was popular even before he turned pro. And when he did turn pro, they taped every match and training session and sent out video tapes to those in the business, writers, tv producers, etc.
    That was the Tyson Machine.

    PROMOTION. Yes, of course its down to Tyson's ability, but we are focusing on who promoted him to stardom.

    Tyson was the most popular athlete in the World. bigger than Michael Jordan. He was making millions INSIDE and OUTSIDE the ring. He was well respected. He was worth millions before King got a hold of him. Tyson was very young still and the amount he was making for each fight was growing and growing.
    King stole a Ferrari and was selling a product that was already made and promoted. And he took that product, and parked it in the ghetto to get destroyed.

    It doesnt happen period!!


    Mayweather Sr got 400k from Hatton for the Pac fight and that is huge

    Roach gets about the same and that is HUGE for a trainer
