If $10 mil is not enough, then how much do y'all think Team GGG are wanting to accept the fight with Canelo?

I don't think the problem is the money.

Goldenboy doesn't really want the fight to happen

Fight is 10 months away so any negotiation at this point is pointless and irrelevant. I am not sure we even see this fight in 2017. Canelo is scared to death. He doesn't want to prove his Chin.

The whole "year in advance" idea, while the fighter's fame and worth is rapidly improving, already is nonsensical.
Only when they'd give him a ludicris offer (like JayZ did to Broner), there isn't much seriousness about it at all.

Just look at the Pac/Floyd issue. He got offered 4 times what Golovkin got now and for within a couple of months and the very next fight, so his worth wouldn't change much in that time period (or at all). And still it turned out to be a huge lowball offer like many said.
Now here we see a year in advance, and a sum that Golovkin is more or less worth at this time. But if he can lure the 2 big fishes in the ring inbetween, gets undisputed and the only recognized champion in the division, he should obviously get more. Certainly if Canelo does badly in one of his upcoming bouts and pulls a Trout or a Lara again.

yep, that's what made boxing suck carrots.

in the old days you had a champion, a #1 challenger and a couple of top15 challengers behind that.
The champion could pick some of the easier top15 challengers, but had to deal with the #1 within a certain amount of time.
When he didn't, he just wasn't champion anymore, and the #1 and #2 could determine the new champion.

    quick, safe and simple!

A lot can happen in a year. Canelo wants no part of him and thats the bottom line.

Saying that its a very easy fight for Golovkin and a very hard fight for Canelo. Thats why Golovkin is all over it and won't leave it go. We all know how much the Triple Ham loves to pick on little guys.

Don't know, people are ducking the question. Oscar doesn't want the fight, but Team Golovkin still said $10 mill is no good. So how much do you think Golovkin expects to earn?

Remember, Canelo was in a 2.2 PPV and still made around $10m. Canelo vs Golovkin isn't doing 2m buys.

I think I read somewhere that what they're looking for is 60-40 ( for Canelo). According to Loeffler

A 2 million buy would mean a 140M+ gate at a 70 PPV. That would make it a huge lowball offer. In fact everything close to an expected 800k would mean a lowball offer for NEXT YEAR.

GGG would fight him for nothing.

Doesn't seem Team Ggg really wants the fight.

10 million plus ppv upside is not only fair, but very generous, especially when you consider how much the B side usually makes.

My take is K2 is NOT doing what is in Ggg's best interest. Seems like they are milking him and wasting his time when he could be cementing a legacy and getting 8 figure fights.

I mean 10 million plus ppv can all dissapear with either fighter losing. Any other sensible fighter or promoter who gladly accept that offer.

LOL... GGG-Canelo won't do 2 millions.. It's not even guaranteed to do over 1 million.

GGG is not more popular than Cotto, nor has he sold more tickets or ppvs than Cotto.

then read what I said... If they expect it to be even close to 800k then it's a lowball offer anyway, and for a year in advance.

Yeah, I don't have to read what you guys think about this. I already know.

Canelo had no problem accepting his B side status when he fought Mayweather selling 2.2 mil ppv, and despite possibly and likely being A side against Cotto, he took considerbly less than Cotto, and despite selling 900K ppv he did not get an 8 figure guarantee. Canelo accepting those terms says a lot about him.

Canelo's side could have offered Ggg the same deal Canelo got against Mayweather and Cotto, but instead offered Ggg 8 figures plus ppv upside.

How do YOU justify calling that a bad deal? Edumacate me.
