All these offers were for the direct NEXT fight, within MONTHS!
So the situation of the fight wouldn't change in the meantime, while we know Golovkin's popularity is growing and his beltcollection is too. So a year can change the whole thing.... how hard is that to understand?!

I'm pretty sure you do, but pretend you don't.

GGG's popularity vs nondescript opponents has reached it's ceiling. As a matter of fact it even took a hit for his refusal to accept the more than generous 10+ million Canelo offer, which a lot of people took as hypocritical of GGG and his team, especially after the GGG/Jacobs debacle.

Do you honestly believe Ggg will become more popular in the next 7 months?? lol You're surely not being serious.

Sept. 2017 is 10 months away, you need at least 3 months for promotion and training camp, giving Ggg 7 months to sign.

So tell me how Ggg's popularity is going to rise significantly in the next 7 months when his last fight only drew 800K viewers on American network.

Trying to negotiate a fight for a year down the road is pointless. The 2 big variables that can easily occur in that timeframe is the fighter loses or gets injured beforehand.

Gennady's team obviously didn't want to accept a flat fee and seemed adamant about receiving a percentage. I read GB offered upside on the PPV in addition to the 10 million base pay.

Anyway it's so far down the line, who knows if the fight will ever materialize.

Face it man, Ggg is going to have to bow down to Canelo's terms which are more than fair, in fact they are generous.

The ONLY reason why you are against the offer is because Ggg hasn't accepted YET, but once he accepts, you will have no problem with it.

The fight is 10 months away. You usually need 3 months to prepare for a mega fight, from promotion to training. Leaving Ggg 7 months to step up and sign the contract.

You think signing a contract for a fight that you have to prepare for in 7 months is unreasonable?

How many months would you consider reasonable time to sign a contract?

    you're so full of it...
the whole thing is ABOUT accepting or not accepting the offer NOW. It's about a fight that's alomst an entire year away! That's my whole point! Read what I wrote!

it should not be hard to make the fight
pay ggg his normal purse whatever that is $ 400k guess and then give him say 25% of the ppv rev given canelo ppv numbers and both fighters earn lots of money and fans get a fight we want to see.

ive been self employed since i was 16 / i dont care what other people earn doing the same job as me / if i could take home 3 times more than i usually would with the promise that would earn more in the future/ no skin of my nose what someone else earns double or treble what i get.

Well the offer is on the table. Ggg can sign when he wants, Oscar De La Hoya is hopefull the fight will happen in Sept. but he said he won' be chasing Ggg around. 10 mil plus ppv.

Golovkin is more than likely to lose his big payday than he is becoming more popular in the next 7 months. Any fighter can lose, and there goes his huge 8 figure payday, just like that.

But since you're obviously more concerned about the timing of the contract, when do you feel is fair for Ggg to sign his 8 figure offer? A week before the fight, a month, three months, six months..? How many months before the fight is it fair for Ggg to sign?

bumdog fans are so delusional...i love this new defense of "ggg is growing in popularity".....how? by doing what? .....a guy who is growing in popularity, and is already described as wildly popular by his fanbase, isnt traveling to do a ppv

what else is ggg doing to grow his popularity? not making a jacobs fight? probably doing some garbage defense in march?

you guys are so insane and delusional.......you guys are getting shown by facts and raw numbers that a 10 mil offer is a good one...a damn good one.....and now the tune changes to "hes growing in popularity"...lol

What they need to do, just to shut everybody up about all this utter krap is say what ever money this fight generates Canelo takes a cut that is the equivilant of his highest ever pay day, Golovkin takes a cut which is the equivalent of his biggest ever pay day and the winner takes the rest of it.

Everybody talking Canelo is the one who makes the biggest money and they are right but on this occasions Canelo stands to make more than he would of before cuz this fight is bigger than even him and Mayweather and its not just because of him he only makes this much cuz he is facing GGG. It needs both fighters to make this huge so 10 mill prob isnt a fair evaluation its just a lowball.

Not that any of that matters, GGG could say yes to 155 AND 10 million and have a phone in one hand and a pen in the other and it still wouldnt happen. GBP just straight up dont want this fight until Canelo is a fading star.

Robney, that is not how it works. At $70 with 800k ppv. The revenue is $56M. What you don't know is HBO and the cable provider will take half of that, leaving essentially $28M from ppv revenue. There will be live gate, ads and international feed to be added but there are other expenses as well to cover.

No, 10m flat is simply not even close to enough. It goes right back to Pac v Mayweather. If both sides don't have some PPV upside then the offer isn't serious.

Canelo and mayweather are stars - but Liam Smith and Andre Berto proved that it takes two to sell a show.

This fight is going to sell - both guys need a taste of the upside. A flat fee kills any negotiation before it even starts.
