Sometimes even out-boxing an opponent isnt enough at world level. Especially when the other guy is a cash cow.

Marquez out-thought and out-boxed manny, even made him look as clumsy as he did in 08, but work rate wins the day...again! Does this fight show that manny's ability hasnt really progressed as most thought? And that its true that fighting hand-picked opponents has made him look better than he is? :think

2005-2011 he just got more refined in his approach and skills and is now a little calmer, maybe he became a slightly better boxer but like Beristain said this made him less dangerous in some other ways.

IMO Manny had the right balance around 2009

i think he is a bit too stand-offish now

    Good question.

Hes much better in 2011 than 2008.

    Reasons why:-

    • He actually beat Marquez in 2011. 115-113 on CARDS.
    • He actually outboxed Marqueer in 2011, in 2008/4 he out brawled him. < Impressive
    • He best shot was the right hook in 2011 and jab. In 2008/2004 he pretty much only had a straight left.
    • He took least punishment in all three fights in 2011.
    • Best shot Marqueer landed in 2011 was a headbutt.

The only difference in Manny's performances are his competition. You give him a zombie and he looks great.Give him a boxer to fight and he looks foolish.

    His fans,however,always look foolish.

The one thing that I see remained the same is that he couldn't beat Marquez, 3 fights 3 losses vs Marquez, bring on the 4th at 154 and 5th at 160, Pac can't handle Marquez.

the weight doesn't matter cause at the end of the day they are the same size. If anything Marquez' core is slightly bigger. Normally Marquez would've been disadvantaged cause Pac's body is more used to the higher weight but proper training took care of that.

they are evenly matched because of Marquez' style. I had Pac winning the first two fights by 1 point and haven't scored the 3rd one yet but I've seen the scores people have on ESB and even those who score it for Marquez can't agree on which rounds he won or lost.

Marquez is simply the best of the two, 3-0 vs Pac former #1 fighter in the world, Ring might not have Marquez as the #1 in the world, but he should be. Marquez is shot war torn and over the hill and should retire. He can't be risking his health moving up several wight divisions to fight lesser fighters than him. And to think people actually ranked Donaire, Martinez, and Mayweather higher than #1 in the world Marquez.:patsch:rofl

You forgot the option "He is worse than he was in 2008".

How can anyone say he's better now, after his last two fights where he couldn't knock out an old man and then got a gift decision agaist another old man?

You forgot to add that Pacman in 2011 is war-torn and physically past his prime, which makes all your points irrelevant.
