I personally think that they are both great and I beleive that Cotto edges him out in a tough tough fight if they fight in the next two years or so. However Mayweather would obviously be the betting favorite and will probably win the fight. The longer they wait the better for Cotto.

I was watching Floyd vs. N'dou and Corley yesterday and Floyd had a couple of amazing rounds in those fights were he stood in the pocket and just picked his punches with amazing accuracy and power hurting these guys in the process with crisp short left hooks and uppercuts as well as lightning fast straight rights.

Using his defense to set up his offense and turning it up a notch on these guys like he did against Hatton in the eight round. The guy is nothing short of amazing. Damn he is good.

So I started thinking does Miguel really stand a chance? And I came up with this simple criteria to analyze the situation:

Power in both hands - Cotto (PBF can also punch with both hands dont get it twisted)

Speed - PBF (This one is not close)

Defense - PBF (This one is not close)

Ring Smarts - Even ( both can read what's in front of them)

Adapatbility - Even ( both can adapt to any style so far)

That "5th" Gear - Even (both can turn it up to that "amazing" level)

Last, Level of Competition - Even (Hatton is JWW, Mosley is a bit old but they are both very good fighters)

Heart - Cotto (I am not sure if this is an advantage or a disadvantage)

Timing - Cotto (he might not have Mayweather speed but don't trade
with this guy even if you have faster hands he can get his shots in)

These guys are pretty much equals when it is all said and done.

My head say's Mayweather, My heart say's Cotto.

One thing is for sure if this fight does not happen while thay are still undefeated the only loosers will be us, the fans.

I fight like this does not come around that often and we may never get it because of stupid politics.

Floyd is much faster, smarter, and has much better defense in the ring than Cotto. Floyd makes any adjustment he needs to make in a fight to win. Cotto has more power, this is true, but until someone proves they can hit floyd (continuiously not just once i'm talking combinations), he will always be far ahead of every welter weight. Not too mention how physically fit he is for every fight.

i think Floyd has amore speed, better defence, more effective style, better resume and by the looks of things a better chin.

I just dont think Cotto has the style to beat a pot shotter like Floyd, I think it will take a great defence, workrate speed in power.

Prime De La hoya and prime mosley would beat the 147 Floyd imo...

I think Floyd will beat Cotto with excessive accurate combinations and not pot shotting! Although I think the latter technique will be used, I think it will be combinations that will put cotto to sleep!
