Its been a retty poor year for boxing due to the politics and many fights falling apart or not coming to fruition. Still Nov/Dec look juicy so far, so my question is how bad/good will 2010 be looked upon? Some of the bouts in Nov/Dec Paul Williams V Sergio Martinez 2 Amir Khan V Marcos Maidana Juan Manuel Lopez V Rafa Marquez Manny Pacquaio V Antonio Margaritto David Haye V Audley Harrison Carl Froch V Arthur Abraham Juan Manuel Marquez V Michael Katsidis Vic Darchinyan V Abner Mares Jean Pascal V Bernard Hopkins
All them fights are significant fights (apart from Haye/Harrison). So that in itself will go a long way in helping redeem a shitty 2010. And if half of them live up to expectations and/or provide some mesmerizing performances, then I think it might be enough for me.
i agree, i think Haye/Harrison is a farce but its got people talking and its doing well mainstream (well at least in Britain anyway) so i guess its served its purpose
Definitely, it's got me well pumped! In fact, I'm looking forward to it more than some of the others you have on your list. It should be a right laugh.
great lineup of fights beginning in a few weeks, but 2010 will always be remembered for what could have been.
Man december 11th.. Stacked! Abner Mares, Vic Darchinyan, Dereck Chisora, Wladimir Klitschko, Lamont Peterson, Victor Ortiz, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana, James Kirkland, Joseph Agbeko, Yonnhy Perez, Eric Morel, Frankie Gavin, James DeGale, Kell Brook, Nathan Cleverly, Tony Bellew and more fighting. If that's not a night worth remembering, I dont know what is!
A couple of good months is not going to make up for the several weekends we all had to go through without a single intersting fight in sight. Not to mention all the disappointments of watching great fights go down the shitter all year long.
Agreed....cintron jumping out the ring....bradley's weak performance....alexander's "win".......one fight could've made all this not matter....if only he didn't go on vacation
people are getting pretty excited for danny green vs bj flores over here in aus aswell, same as the katisidis v marquez , cant wait!
We didn't get Pacquiao-Mayweather, but in all honesty i think anyone still brooding over that fight when they know what we have coming as stated, needs to get over it! There's a couple of times over the next few months when there will be 2 major fights on the same night. In the list provided i can see 6 potential fights of the year. In a way, im almost okay with the crap that has at times been offer the past 9 months, because in the run up to christmas and new year we have a backlog of great, and more to the point, competitive match ups to look foreward to.
Something for everyone in Nov/Dec: 'Good v Evil' - Pac/Margarito Top 2 LMW/MW - Martinez/Williams 2 Allout WAR - Froch/Abraham & Marquez/Katsidis Crossroads - Juanma/Marquez & Pascal/Hopkins Boxer v Puncher - Khan/Maidana and the biggest fight in Britain for many a year - Haye/Harrison
Only bad things, are the ones that got away - always want what we can't have: Floyd/Pac & Wlad/Haye & Gamboa/Juanma etc
