How much corruption do you think is in boxing today? You always here how it was basically a racket back in the day, but people assume it doesnt happen today.
There is a lot of corruption on boxing. As with many sports. And to those that think there isn't much boxing, I say the word gullible is not in the dictionary.
Boxing has much more corruption then other sports besides Basketball. Notable fights with obvious corruption was the Klitschko-Brewster drugging and the Golota-Byrd fight
not as much as people think. I have been to fight cards with my friend who is or was a boxing manager, and most guys behind the scenes love boxing and try to be honest. I do not consider hometown decisions to be corruption.
unfortunately boxing is ruined by promoters and other bigwigs with to much influence, reading an old ring magazine the other day with an article about don king, its people like him that made boxing a niche sport
the politics side is ugly.. if you mean corruption as in the mafia is in on it? In America, I don't think it exists..
That's true, I think the American mafia got out of that when they saw casinos and slot machines were the way to go back in the 60s.
its poorly run with no real person to call the shots, like the NFL which has a commisioner, baseball, basketball... boxing has so many rules that only apply in certain states,, some fights have no 3 knockdown rule, some dont, some have no standing 8 counts, so dont, way too many governing bodies....they make and break their own rules every day
