How much coverage did Monzon's legal issues get in the mainstream American/British media? When Monzon was convicted of murder, how did you learn about it in the pre-internet age? Did it get any significant mainstream media coverage?
I read about it in the local sports page. He is one of my favorite fighters of all time, we crossed paths at a local boxing match in 1979, it was friendly. But to be clear, I do not think that a man has the right to strike a female at any time, the same for a female. I have never struck a female. But as far as coverage goes, there was very little.
amazing story, i agree with everything you said I guess Monzon was not a big enough name to generate mainstream coverage.
I read it in the newspaper sports pages, but it wasn't a big story. This was in NY though..I'm sure it was a huge story in Argentina.
