bearing in mind mccall was going through severe drug addiction problems and was mentally falling apart in front of our very eyes. does this victory make up for the shocking defeat lewis suffered 2 and a half years previously?

Ostensibly, mental health issues were not addressed in the run up to the bout, which are entirely out of Lennox hands.

Boxing itself failed MCall by letting him compete whilst suffering some serious kind of mental issues.

For what MCall offered, lewis easily defeated him. Once you turn your back you are asking to be TKOed.

I give Lewis a lot of credit for the fight, you could tell he was nervous of McCall in the first round but he gained control. Also chasing that rematch showed he wanted to erase the loss, even though it was dangerous considering the power was there to take him out. On the other hand the fight was pretty meaningless in the end and not credible at all and that was a shame for Lewis, so its not really a great win but I give him credit for how he dealt with the fight. What amazed me the most was the fact McCall was taking full power shots with his hands down. Think Lewis was going to need to win on point in ordinary circumstances....

Absolutely none. McCall had a breakdown and Lewis was in the right place at the right time.

    Not much

McCall started crying, dropped his hands refused to engage and took Lennox's shots without flinching.

Their is a big ** next to that win, and it does not makeup for getting destroyed in the first fight.

I give him a lot of credit for the civilised way that he handled it.

    Did he settle the score?

Yes because you can only fight the version that turns up!

Full credit. He avenged a loss and for that boxers always deserve credit in my eyes.th issues McCall had are his own problem.

Even if it was prime McCall at his peak, how much extra credit would Lewis really get? Holmes toyed with him.

He righted a wrong and that's how this fight gains him credit.

    Put it this way.

If Lewis had wanted to hurt him, while he was wandering around aimlessly with tears in his eyes, he would not have peppered him with jabs to get a mathematical stoppage.

You would have seen some real destruction, and it would have been scary.

Lewis deserves a lot of credit for this.

None. What the hell did Lenni do? Mccall just had a brain fart, and even then Lenni didn't have the ***** to go all out against a stationary target.

Lenni lost to a bum, why on earth should he get credit for winning against a bum in a rematch even though the win in the rematch wasn't exactly a win as per say win?

It was almost 3 yrs after the first fight, after Holmes had almost beaten McCall and Bruno had done so.

    BTW

It was a close fight but Holmes hardly "toyed" with McCall.
