I'm thinking Sanders coming off a decimation of WBO title holder Wlad 40-1-0 would have him under 20-1. You disagree?

You can do what you want but most people feel the proper method of evaluating h2h matches are taking the best versions of both fighters. If you want to take a substandard version of Lewis against the best versions of other fighters be my guest, just don't be surprised if it's not taken all that seriously.

I give Lewis credit for improving to the point where no version of McCall would have beaten him that night. But in reality he didn't face a McCall that would of even beaten Lewis in the first fight. He was facing a man incapable of defending himself, so for me it's a rather insignificant victory.

But that's not Lewis' fault he showed up in shape, focused and didn't allow the strange events of the fight throw him off what he had to do. It was a very unsatisfying way to win, but there is nothing he could of done about that.

Consider Rahman had decimated a better version of Sanders I see no reason for Sanders to be shorter odds than Rahman.

You have to give Lewis some credit for taking the rematch.
At the time, he was trying to avenge a 1 punch embarrassing KO loss. Had McCall won, Lewis's career would have been in serious trouble.

I give Lewis next to no credit for the actual win. McCall was in no mental condition to fight. He broke down and cried in the ring.

The thing with Lewis is this. He was very eager to re-match those who KO'd him but wanted nothing to do with rematches where he was in a tough fight ( Bruno, Mercer, Klitschko )

I give him FULL credit. Its not his fault McCall showed up in basket-case-condition.

I have to confess I have less than zero interest in films so I haven't even seen it, but I'm told Lewis is only in it fleetingly. That would seem to back up your claim about him being star struck because apparently he was hanging around Las Vegas with the other idiots for weeks, instead of training.

Sanders wasn't better against Rahman. He sustained an injury during training which limited his road work, leading to poor stamina in that fight. He was very focused and well trained against Wlad despite being a bit older.

The counter-point is Lewis could have known that McCall's condition had worsened and picked the best time to fight him. Lewis was a pretty good businessman, picking the perfect times for him to face Holyfield and Tyson.

By 1997, Lewis was much more aware of his flaws and had better balance. In 1994 ( when McCall Ko'd him ) Lewis was an unfished work. His life changed when Steward took over.

That's all speculation and it still doesn't get McCall off the hook for showing up unprepared to one of the bigger fights of his career.

Well Rahman didn't make as many excuses. They stand at 1-1, both by devastating KO.

You might like to study this before you accuse Lewis of picking and choosing his opponents at the " perfect times "

In his first comeback fight, Lewis was given a chance to fight for the mandatory challenger position within the WBC and won it by knocking out American contender Lionel Butler. However, at the behest of promoter Don King,[citation needed] the WBC bypassed him and gave Mike Tyson the first chance at the title recently won by Briton Frank Bruno from Oliver McCall. Bruno had previously lost to both Lewis and Tyson.

Lewis had the number 1 contender's slot in the WBC rankings when he knocked out Australian Justin Fortune, then defeated former WBO Champion Tommy Morrison in October 1995, followed by Olympic gold medalist and former WBO champion Ray Mercer in a close majority decision in May 1996. Lewis successfully sued to force Tyson to make a mandatory defence of the WBC title against him or force him to give up the title, winning a four million dollar settlement from promoter Don King. Rather than fight Lewis, Tyson relinquished the WBC title to fight Evander Holyfield. The WBC title was declared vacant. This set up a rematch between Lewis and McCall, who met on 7 February 1997 in Las Vegas for the WBC title.
